What a wonderful little gem in Kyoto! Staying in this beautiful old Japanese house, with its traditional tatami rooms, futon beds, and charming little courtyard garden, felt like stepping back in time. Everything was beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean, with thoughtful amenities, a cosy café and lounge area, and even laundry facilities that came in very handy during our stay. The location was fantastic, with easy access to public transport, restaurants, and convenience stores. But what truly made our stay special was the incredibly warm, welcoming, and thoughtful staff, who went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable—even arranging a shoe dryer when we returned completely soaked one rainy day! We loved our 11 nights here so much that we returned for the final night of our Japan trip, and walking through the door again genuinely felt a little like coming home. Thank you for such a lovely experience!

Cosy traditional atmosphere!

The place is really close to Kyoto station, takes 15mins by walk. Really nice location and its old style Japanese house. Many locations are just 10-15 mins of walk.
Only drawback is whole house is made up of wooden structure so it creeks when you walk and sometimes not so good. And the bathroom and toilets are in common areas.
Also, its not great for solo traveler according to me as its very quiet. Also FYI rooms are not soundproof 😁
But overall for the Japanese feeling its a must place to stay
No soundproofing.

Close to the train station
Matresscon the floor are not comfortable. Amount which we spent to sleep on the floor is the same as friends spent in the hotel with much more comfort. Noise in ryokan can be heard very easy
