We had to skip the booking and leave for because there was no running water in the hotel and the lady told us she would get us a bucket to bathe

Deceived by online pictures. Reception area seemed to serve more purposes as theres a sofa behind locked iron bars. Area small and congested. No landline or computer, staff used mobile. Room door handle loose and no proper safety lock. There is a gap in the door frame visible enough to see through and from. Bed sheet stained and blood spots. Bathroom mildew stains, toilet not stuck to floor, wiggly. And I guess its a norm in DR the morning after there was no running water

This place is affordable, conveniently located, and best of all the staff is amazing. Melissa—the main host—is attentive, friendly, and very considerate. The pool and spa are offsite, but the jacuzzi is relaxing. The facilities do need some work, but for the price is worth it. This will be my go to place when staying in the colonial zone.

This place is very affordable, has a great location and has excellent staff. Melissa is helpful and more than a hotel clerk she’s an amazing host. The facilities need some work, but for the price, it’s well worth it. If you’re visiting the colonial area, it’s a great choice if you plan to spend time looking at the sights, it’s fairly close to a lot of historic sites.

Do Not stay here unless you absolutely have to. Certainly, do not bring your girlfriend/wife. Check in= No computer- no way to confirm your stay. Property is locked= You have to yell "HOLA" until the lady comes and unlocks the door. Across the street is a small, triangular park where people drink and yell all night. Staff yells conversation through the hallways all day and half the night. Room= small table, small sink. No dresser- a closet w. a shelf (just stack your stuff up). Toilet= No toilet seat Shower= could not adjust the water- it was boiling hot (unusable). The air conditioner was great. Super close to the main avenue in the Colonial Zone. Lisa, the lady who works there, only speaks Spanish but she is super-nice and super-competent. If not for her, this place would be a -5.

Upon check-in the kids and I witnessed a prostitute walking the halls and passing us at the check-in desk. You think I would have gotten the clue.... Check-in took about 30 minutes but we finally got the rooms. I couldn't even imagine rooms being more disgusting: the beds looked like they were found in the street, the rooms and bathrooms were filthy. We dropped our luggage and left (we didn't plan to sleep there, we just needed a place to keep out luggage until 1am when were going to leave for the airport to catch our flight). We toured Santo Domingo (which we loved) and returned to the hotel at 11pm. The children (11 and 12 years old) opened our hotel room door to find a man naked in our bed with two prostitutes! Our luggage was in the room, so we took our bags and walked out at 11pm, obviously extremely upset. Look at the price of this hotel. There is a reason for this low price. It is for prostitutes and their clients. Stay anywhere else.
