Place is very clean, guests usually keep to themselves. It was very quiet when I was there as the other guests were very considerate. Staff were very kind. If you’re looking for a last minute stay for like 1-2 nights, can consider this place for the price.
(Only speaking about first floor as that was where my room was)
Lesson learnt - I will read reviews the next time I book any accommodation. I thought, wow this place is so affordable!!!! But yeah, you get what you pay…
Hostel Hideaway is what you type into your GPS. It’s located about 5-7mins away from Minowa station and you’d have to walk out to the main roads to find something to eat. Otherwise, there’s a vending machine for drinks right next to the entrance of the hostel.
You have to take your shoes off at the hallway to put in the shelves so prepare a pair of indoor slippers to change into when you arrive.
First of all, the rooms are NOT actual rooms but just partitions. Only one shower on the first floor. Two toilets separated by gender. There’s a washing machine too but has curfew (can only use it from 10am-8pm). Washing machine only takes 100 yen coins but there’s a wash + dry option, split into heavy or light load options. Of course there’s also a wash only option but there’s no space to dry your clothes.
Hostel is VERY small, with very limited space to move about within your “room”. One wrong move and you’d be rattling the partition door and waking your neighbor up. Basically no way to soundproof your room as every single sound can be heard.
If you want to pack your suitcase, forget it as there’s literally no space to lay your suitcase down on the floor. I had to grab my shopping bags and head to the airport to repack there instead.
I wouldn’t stay here again unless I really had no choice. The saving grace was how everything was very clean.

I love the set up at this location. Instead of a capsule, you get a small room, separated by a wooden wall and a curtain for the entrance to your unit. the futon was comfortable and it was refreshing being able to stand up in my little area. As always, Hostel Lodging Tokyo is incredibly clean. Every location I’ve stayed at was clean. At check out time you see the workers begin carefully cleaning the facilities. The shower is spacious with nice shampoo and body wash. The kitchenette is small but it is there if you need a stovetop or fridge. There is also laundry, and the machine automatically dispenses soap so you don’t need to buy detergent. The location is 2 minutes walk to a sento, 3 minutes walk to 711, and 6 minutes walk to a train station. I’ll stay here again and again! Thank you.

I wish there was more space for luggage, bedroom doors with a lock, and motion sensor bathroom sink and soap.

The hotel was inexpensive and offered a budget-friendly place to stay. The shower was clean, and the self-check-in and check-out process was relatively easy. It may be a suitable option for travelers whose main priority is keeping accommodation costs low.
What I did not like was that the accommodation was advertised as a single room, but it was not actually a fully enclosed room. The sleeping space was simply separated by curtains, and there was a gap between the bottom of the curtain and the floor. As a result, privacy was quite limited.
However, considering the very low price, I understood that I could not expect too much. This place may be acceptable for budget travelers, but it may not be suitable for anyone who values privacy.
