we booked a twin bed room for our 2 nights trip. when we got the key and reach the room, i realised it was a corner room, and the room number 413 contains 2 unlucky number in traditional chinese culture, 4 and 13, plus the corner room (also not a good location in traditional think). so we went to the front desk, after check, there are no more same type of room available, but the staff change our room type to 2 single bed room and that solve our problems... thank you so much.
the traditional kyoto cuisine buffet breakfast was superb, but the buffet walk way area was bit squeeze. location wise, bit troublesm that we have to take bus to center of city.

This was my second time to stay here. Everything I liked the first time was still the same: The friendly and efficient staff, the clean, comfortable, and relatively spacious room, the very relaxing public bath, and the excellent quality and variety of the breakfast. I also like that the hotel is not located in the most heavily touristed part of the city, but Nijo Station is just a short walk away, and bus stops are nearby, so it's easy enough to get around.
As I mentioned, this was my second time to stay here, and hopefully not my last. Thank you for a very pleasant stay!

Nice hotel, but definitely not a 4-star experience.
The hotel is pleasant and the staff are friendly, but the overall experience is closer to a 3-star hotel at best.
Housekeeping is only provided every three days, with fresh towels left at your doorstep on other days. Even on cleaning days, guests are expected to put all rubbish in the bin, as anything outside it won’t be collected. More concerningly, the hotel advises guests to take all valuables with them on cleaning days, which gives an uncomfortable impression regarding the security of personal belongings and the hotel’s accountability.
The breakfast area, with its long rows of tables, also feels more like a hostel than a 4-star hotel.
While the staff were lovely, the limited services and overall atmosphere simply don’t justify a 4-star rating.
