Very welcoming and helpful. Meeting other people from other countries (France and Spain) who share my love of Japan was excellent. The lady (sorry, don’t know her name - my fault) was excellent. Very helpful and informative.

ホストの温かいお人柄、建物が祖祖父さまの手づくりで、先祖代々の丁寧な生活を感じさせる素晴らしい宿でした。レンタカーで永平寺まで10分くらい。わかりやすい道でした。

I was visiting Fukui just to see Daihonzan Eiheiji, which SharedHouse Zen is conveniently close to via bus, bicycle, car, or walking path. I enjoyed staying here so much that I stayed an extra night and day after I'd seen the temple. I appreciated the host's thoughtful and intuitive systems for sharing space and resources among guests, and her kindness as well. The home itself is beautiful! It was by far the nicest accomodations I stayed in during my trip to Japan, and if you're on a backpacker's budget like I was, I think you'd have a lot of troubles finding any rooms as comfortable and low-key-elegant as these anywhere in Japan.
I also met some friendly fellow travelers there, and had some great conversations.
The wifi was a bit slow in one bedroom, but not unusable. Nothing but that minor complaint.

古民家の風情がある室内で、いろりがあり、ゆっくりくつろげました。キッチンは別になりますが、冷蔵庫や冷凍室も自由に使えました。コップなども十分あります。お料理はなかなか難しいかもですが、買ってきたものを温めるレンジもあり、冷凍室では保冷剤を凍らせておくことができました。便利です。一戸建ての中のそれぞれのお部屋は、スライド式のドア（ふすま）ですが、鍵がかかるようになっていますので、シャワーなどを浴びにいくときにも安心できました。宿の目の前が、永平寺口駅になりますので、朝方に、電車が駅に止まる時間を調べて、歩いて撮影に行けました。２両と１両の上下線がすれ違うところを撮影できました。
ベッドがありましたが、とても柔らかくて腰が沈み込んでしまいました。腰痛の方は、厳しいと思います。隣のお部屋が薄い壁一枚なのか、話し声が聞こえてしまう感じです。
普通の声では話せずに、小声で話しました。
お風呂は浴槽がなくて、シャワーのみになります。
