Discovery Ancol

It was kids friendly. Good playing area, swimming pool and kids zone.

Too many mosquitoes at the rabbit feeding area, poolside and even in the room balcony. Lift is slow moving. Lightings in the room definitely need improvement. Quite dull in the evening. Walls are too thin that I can hear people talking from another room. Questionable on the privacy and security of the rooms as I was surprised to find someone watering the plants outside my room at the balcony. He must’ve climbed over from another room. Definitely not what I expected to see after returning from breakfast. If that is being done easily, imagine if someone were to sneak into the room at night and commit crimes as I have 2 children with me! Balcony door was unable to lock from inside as well.

Thank you to Mr Ruslan for your kindness and hospitality to me and my family. It was a good experience for the place and the staff. The location is also very close to play station DUFAN.

Spacious room, decent breakfast spread, plenty of activities for children (swimming pool with a waterslide, outdoor and indoor playgrounds, lobby playground, plus a Hugo City playground at IDR 150,000/child + companions). Staff are all very friendly and always make sure our stay is enjoyable. Hotel is old but well taken care of.

I was told over the phone that despite the room description mentioning free entry to Ancol is included, this is apparently no longer the case except if you book directly with the hotel. However, reservation was kind enough to give us a pass to Ancol as described. Please change room description if this is no longer the case. Room can get a bit musty.

This hotel has a very nice and modern lobby. The swimming pool and kids club are big and awesome. Room is spacious, bed is comfortable. Location is great, just next to Dufan. We stayed during holiday season, so there were a lot of guests, but the parking lot are spacious, it's still easy to find space to park our car.

The overall service could be improved. We had couple of unpleasant experience during our stay: 1. When we check in, it's a bit hard to find someone who could help us bringing our lugages from car to hotel lobby (we travel with kids and senior citizen and brought several bags, so any help is highly appreciated) 2. After finally we got a cart to bring our lugage, we checked-in as usual. We gave our lugage tag and room number to the bell boy, and he promised to bring them to our room. We waited for more than one hours in our room, but the lugage never came. My husband then came down to lobby to check. It was by surprise that all of our lugages were getting out of the cart (it was already on the cart before) and being abandoned in the lobby. After complaining, then finally we get it delivered. 3. We requested extra bed and paid for it during check-in. We waited for almost 3 hours and called several times to receptionist, but the extra bed was not coming. Only after getting downstairs to lobby to complaint, then the extra bed finally came. 4. The lobby and public facilities are great, but the room is relatively old. There was a lot of stain on the wall and on the carpet. The hallway to the room was a bit smelly also. The bath room is spacious but mouldy on some spots including the bathroom sink. 5. The curtain has no vitrage, which is quite unusual for 4 star hotel. Room lighting (both natural light or electrical) is low, which make it quite gloomy. 6. When we went for breakfast, we were asked to pay for extra person (7 y.o. kid). It is normal and we don't mind at all. There were 4 of us, while the breakfast was for 3 person (with extra bed). We were asked to pay full price (IDR 220k) for the kid.I decided to pay after breakfast. When I queued after breakfast for paying, a family in front of me has 10 y.o. kid and asked to pay IDR 108k. I'm wondering why earlier I was asked to pay higher for smaller kid?
