I am from Gastonia and many of my family members are still living there. When I come visit, I typically couch surf at a sibling’s home, but during the holidays everyone had a full house. I opted to rent a place for me, my husband, two children and two small dogs. This home was PERFECT! Walking distance to cute little boutique shops, bars, restaurants and breweries. This area is quickly up and coming and the home is beautiful. This is now going to be my home away from home when we come visit. Thank you Dan for being an amazing host! We will be back.

The home is a remodeled mill house in a central Gastonia location. I will not be staying here again. I rarely give a bad review, but I want to share so others know. The bed sheets had big stains on them, the cookware was extremely filthy, there were german roaches in the kitchen and even one in the bed, and the backyard had lots of trash in it. The perfume of the laundry detergent was so strong that we had to rinse the sheets twice just to be able to sleep in them, and the stains did not come out. Additionally, I needed to change the dates of my reservation and got no response after two emails and two phone calls to the property manager. I eventually had to contact VRBO and after I was on hold for a long time, they had finally gotten hold of the property manager and they changed it. I reached out after my stay to let them know about all of this, and did not get a reply. So, they must not care about fixing anything, so I need to warn the rest of you.

My husband and work mates stayed for a week while working on Gastonia. This was a great alternative to a cramped hotel room. The property is very nicely renovated and their stay was comfortable and without any issues. Communication from the host was excellent. And we felt that if we had any problems they'd be very quick to help. They fortunately didn't need a thing while there. The neighborhood is older and may not be everyone's cup of tea. My husband wasn't concerned but a couple of his work mates didn't feel comfortable. So that may simply be personal preference.

This property is clean, quiet, and comfortable. It’s really close to the baseball field. The house is supplied with all the amenities you might need during your stay. There was plenty of space for four adults and two kids.
