Mactan Cebu is a good stop in or out of the airport
What we liked the most:
- the excellence of the hotel’s teams: smiling and caring, polite and efficient.
- the pool and the access to the nearby private beach when the pool is a great addition especially if you’re traveling with kids
- the comfort of the rooms
The difficulty to find a room to accommodate 2 adults and one kid
The rudeness of some of the guests (but we really appreciated how the restaurant staffs handled them, politely and firmly)

We were well impressed with the bar, the breakfast and dinner buffet and how attentive and accommodating all the staff were.
The Mactan Newtown Beach was a bit rocky, one must wear proper footwear to be able to enjoy the water.

It's overpriced and couldn't really be called a resort. We had a beautiful room but that was it.
Better food options, lights next to bed, towel racks, windows that could open, staff more knowledgable about the area, lounge chairs for the beach. It would have been fine if it hadn't been so expensive.
