The House Hostel

PS. I am writing this review after I have returned to my country & after a whole month has already passed, but the memories of my stay in this beautifully managed property are still alive. The review is a bit long, as there are so many good things that I couldn't capture, but here is a summary for you (to help you to decide on booking): 1. Amenities: everything exactly as described in the description (comfortable beds, good lighting, AC, free clean drinking water, daily room cleaning, shower with lukewarm water (not cold/not hot). 2. Staff: exceptionally cordial & genuinely caring (see detailed review). This was my multi-country trip to Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore. Among all four, this was the best place to live and make good friends. I have completely fallen in love with Gili T, & this 'house hostel' is just a perfect spot if you love a simple, homely stay... 'The staff behavior' is the primary criterion that I use to evaluate any hostel/hotel based on reviews from previous travelers... To start with staff, I would say at this hostel, I met the best hosts, Mr. Chandra & Mr. Ferry; both are exceptionally caring, friendly, attentive, & will give you brotherly vibes. I remember (& really miss it too here back in India) the long, friendly discussions I had with Mr. Chandra about tourism, trade, culture, and even spiritual living. He is fond of books; despite not having any advanced degree, he has accumulated an impressive level of wisdom in these fields. He is keenly interested in knowing things through the experiences of tourist who visit his place. I am really impressed with his commitment to maintaining the property, and simultaneously his eagerness to learn new things from books & people he meet.

PS. There is nothing bad about this place and the entire Gili T .. However, due to word limits, I am continuing the positive review here. The owner, Mr. Chandra, is an extremely friendly, caring, and wonderful manager who helped me till the last moment I left Indonesia. He helped me book a tour to DPS airport at extremely cheap rates (through his another cordial friend Mr. Rial). With that, I could safely reach my next hostel (in Kuta Lombok) and then ultimately to DPS airport through two speed boats and local shuttles. I really enjoyed the stay, positive vibes, the delicious breakfast (they serve it hot and fresh), the place, and the company of new friends that I made there. I am really missing Gili T, and my stay at House Hostel; if possible will revisit Indonesia next year and will definitely stay at House Hostel again. Indeed, it is the best hostel among all stays I have ever lived in.... I highly recommend this hostel for anyone who wishes to get homely vibes and make wonderful friends from different countries.

You can hear the prayer very loudly on the island at 5 a.m.

Very pleasant stay! The room is clean and fits the description online. The owners are very kind and helpful. I booked tours and tickets through them with no problem. The location is good for anyone looking for a quiet and convenient stay.
