Beautiful heritage building and grounds, pool, size of room and balcony (the Superior Suite), variety at breakfast buffet, convenient location.
Apparently you can’t even bring your own alcohol to this hotel. I saw that they “don’t serve alcohol” when booking, but when we turned up, there were signs everywhere “no smoking” and “no alcohol. That was a really unpleasant surprise. Communication was a bit shabby, we were not told that our mini bar (alcohol-free, of course) was free of charge, only found out at checkout. It was also not replished during our stay. We weren’t told we could order cooked eggs, we only found out when we saw other guests ordering.
