About this chalet rental

Situated in Snoqualmie Pass, this lovely chalet for $275 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. This cabin is located right in the heart of Snoqualmie Pass, walking distance to summit central ski lifts. The lot is filled with conifer trees and gorgeous views are all around. Great in the summer for all the awesome hiking trails and fishing in nearby lakes. In the fall, there is abundant mushroom hunting in the forest. In the winter, you have easy access to Snoqualmie Summit west, central and east ski areas, tubing center as well as Alpental ski area. There is also a great sledding hill right in the back yard! A brew pub, Dru Bru, is just down the main road and offers fantastic micro-brews and growlers to go! Next door to Dru Bru is the Commonwealth restaurant, bringing high quality dining to the pass. A recently opened grocery store, Laconia, has great organic options. We do have wi-fi internet access and roku for streaming movies. Please note, the internet can be slow, especially when using roku. We have not had issues with cell phone service though. There is a ping pong table, darts, sleds, board games, dvd's and roku to keep you entertained! So, come enjoy our family cabin. Bring the whole family, invite some friends and kick back and relax! Second Note: No Pets allowed. Deposit will be forfeited for violations. Third Note: In the Winter months, access can be challenging. While the roads get plowed after it snows, the road is still steep and getting back up can can be difficult without chains or good ties and an all-wheel drive vehicle. Please note: there is only parking for 2 cars in the Winter, and the driveway is steep, so come prepared for snow!

Aug 2023: Nice area for hiking and mountain biking. Driving along I90 is very nice especially when clouds surrounding the mountains. The driveway is too steep for any cars other than 4x4 all terrain tires.

We enjoyed a wonderful family New Years weekend at this ski chalet near Snoqualmie summit. All beds were comfortable, having 3 bathrooms was a dream, there were plenty of towels, the kitchen was well equipped and good sized, the dining table extended to seat many and the wood stove kept us cozy. Chains or AWD vehicle is needed to access the property of there has been recent snow. The path to the house is steep and in snowy conditions shoveling and step building may be required. We mentioned to the owner that items in the refrigerator took up space and we weren't sure if they could be used, and there may be some problems with the DW. Kids enjoyed the sleds left to be used. We were very satisfied with the VRBO experience.

First I would like to say that Rhea and Mikhail we very gracious and awesome hosts. They were very accommodating and easy to get a hold of when needed. Now for the Cabin. The cabin was the perfect size and accommodated the 7 of us perfectly. Everything is supplied that you would need to cook food, sleep with, stay warm and dry, and to entertain yourself when you are not on the slopes or out hiking around. The parking was for only 2 vehicles and one thing to be aware of is there is a pretty steep slope to climb from the car to the house. It had just dumped 2.5' of snow right when we showed up and another 2' over the 4 nights we stayed there so it made for a cautious climb. There is a rope provided if needed and if there are any ADA requirements, this would be a challenge. Other then that the cabin was perfect. We loved just hanging out by the fire place or having old school challenges on the Original Super Mario Bros Nintendo game. We would Highly Recommend this place to stay when you want to get away to the Snoqualmie Summit for the week or weekend. We hope to visit again. The Pattesons

We stayed for two nights this past weekend. Cabin was very well equipped, had everything that you may need. If you’re staying with kids, you’re in luck, there are so many toys and games!!!! We couldn’t find how to turn on the heater on the main level but the fireplace did the job. Downstairs had tons of DVD’s and Video cassettes (yep!! they still exist lol). There is also a thing called Roku but we couldn’t get it to work but the dvd selection was good enough for us. (TV is so overdue for an upgrade) The driveway was not plowed but Rhea gave us heads up that it may not be done in time before we arrive. The driveway wasn’t as steep as others were discribing, as long as you have appropriate cars for the conditions. Overall great experience and great location!

The space is spread out over three floors so if you have a larger group there is room to spread out. Definitely more cramped in the main living room/dining room for a large group. It rained the weekend we were here for the marathon so spilling out to the deck wasn't an option. The driveway is steep is an understatement! The gravel isn't packed and is so steep that even in the summer unless you have a 4 wheel drive truck you can't get all the way up the driveway. We ended up parking in the road. Walking up and down the steep driveway with luggage and food is challenging. Beware!! Rhea was responsive to any questions I had. Things are clearly marked which is helpful. I encourage the housekeeper to check the pots and pans and appliances in between rentals. We had to clean the pots and pans to use them, one was just burnt, the oven was dirty as was the waffle iron, all things we wanted to use. I hadn't thought about road noise. Being so close to 90 there is constant highway noise.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at this spacious cabin! We ran the Cascade Series Half Marathon so the location was perfect as we were close to the Iron Horse Trail as well as a short drive from the Commonwealth/Dru Bru and the Pancake House. The house had everything we needed from the basic kitchen staples to cook with as well as the softest towels/bedding. We would defintaely stay here again. I can only imagine how beautiful this cabin would be in ski season. Thank you Rhea for a lovely stay!

See above, plus the kitchen had necessary items to prep meals. Bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious. A bit warm during the day in August, but we bought a couple of fans. Nice & cool at night. Nearby highway is heard if the doors/windows are open, but is not noticed with the well insulated doors/windows closed. We would stay here again.

Myself and a group of friends stayed at Rhea’s cabin over a weekend and had a great time while we were there. It’s very close to Pass Life (Dru Bru and Commonwealth) and in easy driving distance of great hiking and off-roading. There were a few things that we experienced that were not mentioned at all in the owner’s posting. The freeway is VERY loud. You will not forget it’s there. The driveway (not pictured) is extremely steep and gravely. The only cars we could park near the top were ones with all-terrain tires. There’s a rope “railing” installed to help get up and down. The entrance to the stairs from the driveway to the deck are surrounded by overgrowth and were very difficult to access. There’s also a “yard” off the other side of the deck that was just overgrowth as well. They don’t seem to care about their yard. My experience with Rhea was difficult and frustrating. I felt like she accused me of breaking her dishwasher after I messaged her that it had not run properly when I tried to use it. She also refused to return the security deposit because she said her cleaner had to spend twice the amount of time there than usual. I’m really unsure as to how this is possible. We spent a few hours picking up after ourselves and washing every dish by hand since the dishwasher wasn’t working. She said all the furniture was out of place, including a couch we we absolutely didn’t move. This was shocking to my friends and I as we put everything back to where it was when we found it. We had a lot of laundry because there were eight people for three days and as requested, we left it all in front of the washer. Doing extra loads of laundry takes extra time and if that’s why the cleaner spent more time there then that shouldn’t count against our deposit. She also said there was trash all over the “yard” and if we missed any, it’s because it was buried in the overgrowth. We paid extra money to have two extra people plus the required cleaning fee and she did not give back the security deposit much to my surprise. Be wary about renting this cabin, the way the owner talks about it and the lengthy list of requirements that come with it make me wonder why she’s willing to rent out her cabin at all. If it’s such a precious space for her then she shouldn’t be allowing a group of eight people to use it. The driveway is dangerous, especially for little kids and the pictures make the space look much larger than it really is. PS Beware of the countless knickknacks
