About this house rental

Christelle and Patrice welcome you to an elegant 18th-century building, built partly on the remains of a very rare and authentic 11th-century fortified castle, of which a watchtower still stands. Steeped in history and fully restored, it nestles peacefully on the immediate edge of pastures and meadows, just steps from a small pond. At the edge of the heart of the tranquil, typical little village of Sivignon, nestled on the foothills of the famous Butte de Suin, which rises to 600m altitude on the watershed between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean, this iconic panoramic sentinel of Saône-et-Loire offers a truly exceptional 360° view, all the way to Mont Blanc on a clear day (a local saying even claims that you can see 52 church steeples!). Total tranquility in the heart of the Cluny countryside, nestled on a vast, open plateau of bucolic rolling countryside dominated by the wooded ridges of the many surrounding wild forest massifs (perfect for hiking or mountain biking), in the heart of a magnificent natural area classified and protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone" (for the quality of its rich ecosystem). A delightful, unspoiled rural and natural setting, 100% peaceful and relaxing. Spacious and comfortable cottage with a warm, rustic charm. Large west-facing terrace opening onto a vast 2500m² private garden, landscaped with lawn and trees (where a majestic century-old walnut tree stands), complete with a pétanque court, a perfect natural playground for children (offering a swing, merry-go-round, and badminton net). Superb panoramic views and landscapes. Composition: Detached single-story house. Wi-Fi. Electric heating. Ground floor cottage (with a slight difference in level of two steps): living room/kitchen/lounge, two bedrooms (one with a double bed 160x200cm and the other with two single beds 90x190cm), shower room, separate WC. Terrace and 2500m² garden (with children's play area and badminton) + pétanque court + bicycle storage + private parking. Shops 10 km. All amenities 19 km. Property steeped in great history nestled on the foothills of the iconic panoramic sentinel of the Butte de Suin, 10 km from the small shopping town of Saint-Bonnet-de-Joux (Supermarket) & 19 km from the famous abbey city of Cluny (all amenities on site). Elegant 18th century building completely restored (including the remains of an authentic old "fortified castle" from the 11th century) nestled in peace in the heart of the Clunisoise countryside on the edge of a peaceful little typical village, in the hollow of a magnificent circus hilly landscape of bocage & forests, on a natural sector classified & protected in "Zone Natura 2000". Privileged location not far from the circuit of Romanesque churches, on the routes of several marked hiking trails in "green walks" (very rich network of hiking trails of the same type to explore in the surroundings), 2.5 km from the GR7, 3 km from the GR76, 16 km from the greenway (and its remarkable "Tunnel du Bois Clair" located 12 km away, the longest old railway tunnel in France open to a Greenway with its 18 km), 19 km from the famous mountain bike route GMT (Grand Tour du Massif Sud Bourgogne), 19 km of a referenced "favorite cycling loop" of 63 km (second identical route of 17 km accessible at 22 km) and 19 km from the first Mâcon vineyards of the famous "Val Lamartinien" (named after the famous local French poet and writer) & the Burgundy Wine Route. Prime location on the borders of Clunisois-Tournugeois (labeled ""Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), at the crossroads of the splendid preserved territory of Charolais-Brionnais - cradle of AOC cattle and sheep breeds recognized worldwide - rich in landscapes sumptuous and with a literally exceptional heritage (labeled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), Mâconnais & Beaujolais (vineyards & various wine routes to discover). Ideal address to easily radiate all over southern Burgundy: 22 km from Charolles, 31 km from the majestic landscaped jewel of the Roche de Solutré (labeled "Grand Site de France"), 31 km from La Clayette, 34 km from Mâcon & from the TGV station of Mâcon Loché, 38 km from Paray-le-Monial (& its illustrious basilica of international reputation), 44 km from Tournus & 45 km from the famous animal park of Touroparc Zoo. A "pied à terre" of choice for a soothing "countrybreak" with family and lovers!
