About this cottage rental
La Madreselva is a beautiful old-looking Andalusian house, with large terrace at the entrance, to be comfortable in the shade, and where you have a beautiful view over the garden. It is a light house, providing itself shade from the sun by large trees that surround it. Those who prefer enjoying the full sun, are free to use the rest of the garden together with all the birds, and all other specimen in it. Composed as following: (ground floor only), entrance by terrace to large living room, two seated sofa, and TV. A fully equipped kitchen, dining area with 4 seats, bathroom with shower, toilet and sink.A very royal bedroom, equipped with matrimonial bed, size 160 x 200..). Each window gives you a spectacular view at the garden.
The Finca itself as the pool are fenced, and you can park near the house. Perfect for who wants to have a natural, quiet, and pleasant house to stay.

We, the owners, ( Carlos and Carin), are the ones that will receive you, can help you with all information, medical problems, we are the ones that clean the houses, wash, take care of the garden etc. So you will not have to deal with any other person during your stay.. Due to the Covid-19 issue, we are cleaning the houses now with ozon as well, to make sure that at your arival you will have an completly clean and hygienic house waiting for you..
Finca la Hijuela is located in the hills near Vejer, in a small town, on a plot of almost 6000 m2.
There are 4 totally separated houses for rent on the Finca;
Casa Tepuana (2 bedrooms), Casa Encina (1 bedroom), Casa Azahar (1 bedroom), Casa Madreselva (1 bedroom). Each house is isolated and private, with its own garden, terrace and barbecue. To be in the middle of nature.
Surrounded by very old oak trees and more than 30 orange, lemon and lime trees, as well as other fruits.
In the center of the Finca there is a large swimming pool (10 x 5 m). In the mature and colorful garden, you have all the privacy you could want.
We are close to; Vejer, Conil, Medina Sidonia, Seville, Cádiz, Tarifa, Gibraltar.
Enjoy the most beautiful beaches on the Costa de la Luz with more than 15 kilometers of fine sandy beaches. The closest beach is about 8 kilometers. You can take a trip to Morocco. Several nice restaurants are nearby, as Vejer de la Frontera has been nominated as a new gastronomic destination. Small shop for daily needs nearby.
This is the perfect place to make your vacation days very special days.
Finca la Hijuela is for all those who love the sound of cowbells in the distance, while zipping a wine on your terrace, listening to the owls and the smell of jasmine.

Perfect houses for a stay away from the hubbub of Vejer and Conil, but so close that it is easy to make visits there, for example to the beaches.

This cottage provided both a welcome, relaxing retreat and a great base to explore the local area and go to the beach. The accommodation was perfect for us. The different cottages feel private and separate and we hardly saw the other guests. It had everything we needed, including a comfortable bed. The swimming pool was well maintained and a great size. Carin and Carlos were welcoming, friendly and helpful. They struck the perfect balance of being available without any instrusiveness. The local area was lovely and we enjoyed trips to Vejer de la Frontera, El Palmar beach and Zahora beach. Thank you Carin and Carlos!

We had a wonderful relaxing 5 night stay at the Carin’s finca. Carin was a great host, the house was lovely, and the grounds, including the pool, are beautiful.
Not only is it a great place to be but it’s really well located for exploring the area. From there we drove to Cádiz to explore the old town, observation tower, and cathedral; Jerez de la Frontera for it’s amazing castle and sherry tours; Tarifa for whale watching; and there are too many quiet and beautiful beaches to count.
We couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Auf La Hijuela wird man als erstes freundlich von den Hunden begrüßt, in puncto Herzlichkeit werden die Tiere aber aber von den Gastgebern noch übertroffen. Die Abgeschiedenheit des Ortes garantiert Ruhe und pure Entspannung auf der (in La Madreselva überdachten) Terrasse, das Haus überzeugt mit seinem andalusischen Stil und ordentlich ausgestatteter Küche mit Gasherd und großem Kühlschrank, so dass auch die kulinarischen Wünsche bei uns nicht zu kurz gekommen sind. Für einen ausreichenden Vorrat an Essen und Getränken sollte allerdings eine längere Fahrt zu einem großen Supermarkt in Kauf genommen werden. Die Räume sind schön gestaltet und sauber, die Finca überzeugt mit zahlreichen Tieren und schön angelegten Gärten voller Blumen und Obstbäumen. Das Krähen der hofeigenen Hähne in den frühren Morgenstunden irritert zunächst, rückt aber nach kurzer Eingewöhnungszeit in den Hintergrund. In ca. 10 Minuten mit dem Auto gelangt man nach Vejer, das mehr als einen Besuch wert ist. Cadiz, Jerez und Sevilla sind mit dem Auto ebenfalls gut zu erreichen, die Landschaft ist gerade in den Frühlingsmonaten fantastisch. Ungefähr 15 Minuten braucht man bis zur Playa del Palmar, die Ende April / Anfang Mai spärlich belagert wird und zu langen Strandspaziergängen / Planschen im Meer einlädt. Ein ganz herzlicher Dank geht an unsere Gastgeber Carin & Carlos, die uns den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich gestaltet haben, uns nützliche Tips gegeben haben, jederzeit ansprechbar waren und uns u.a. am Sonntag nach der Anreise mit Kaffeekapseln versorgt und damit das Frühstück gerettet haben. Ein unvergesslicher Urlaub, ein Aufenthalt auf La Hijuela kann wärmstens empfohlen werden.
