Everyone complaining about noise levels downstairs is a silly goose who didn't realize they booked in the MIDDLE of a thriving nightlife district, on TOP of a great bar*. You can't book that and then complain about noise! As some of them did say, it's better for younger people who stay up late. I got exactly what I wanted: an upstairs crash spot in the middle of the vibrance of Taksim, blocks away from several of the venues known for techno music: Kastel, Sahika, Minimusikhol, and Frankhan Select. Techno fans on a budget should book here or nearby! Not only that but there are great three-piece bands performing EVERYWHERE once you walk out the door in the evening.
Irish Hotel is also in walking distance of Galata Tower and the Bosporus ferries, as well as Taksim Metro station and Istiklal Avenue. I booked a single room but they gave me a double. Breakfast is 8-10 am, traditional breakfast. There's an upright piano in the breakfast room You could probably find a better breakfast but you will pay more. Felt safe and welcomed as a solo queer femme-presenter.
[*James Joyce Irish Bar: owner has perfect English and will sit down with you for an hour over a Guinness. Entire stage with lighting in the back if you're looking to book something].
Don't be worried when the water doesn't heat-- just wait a couple minutes.

Прекрасное расположение, завтрак простой, но вполне неплохой, чай-кофе всегда можно попить. Для одной ночи перед круизом неплохо. Галатапорт недалеко, на респешен для нас вызвали такси до него. Кровать удобная, белье чистое. Персонал доброжелательный и отзывчивый.
Ремонт уставший, очень шумно на улице и звукоизоляция никакая, нет в номере холодильника, лестница не очень удобная для человека с чемоданами.

Emplacement stratégique
Petit déjeuner très basique, ni idéal si vous avez une compétition à préparer à Istanbul.
Rue extrêmement bruyante, impossible de dormir avant 4h du matin
Absence de minibar dans les chambres du coup impossible de stocker un peu d'eau froide ou bien des produits périssables à température ambiante
