Lovely home from home always spotlessly clean, superb location for low Newton beach and getting to Alnwick etc. lovely views and everything is catered for. Hosts are also super responsive and helpful.

The cottage itself is lovely. Clean, comfortable, compact but deceptively spacious. (We five adults/almost-adults and dog had plenty of room to spread out and have our own space, with a good-sized living room to meet up in.) The back of the house looks out over panoramic views of wild fields, the sea visible on the horizon about a mile and a half away. It's possible to walk from the back of the house through the fields down to Newton beach, on pleasant footpaths. I ran to, and along the beach (one of the most beautiful I've ever seen) every morning at sunrise and had the entire mile+ stretch of sand and sea to myself. We saw deer, hares and swifts from the garden. The garden itself is a paved and gravelled area, pleasant to sit in. We made use of the barbecue! It was useful having a washing machine and a clotheshorse and clothes line are available too. The nearest supermarkets are about five miles away. There's a farm shop about a mile and a half away. (The farm shop is absolutely lovely, but pricey!)
The property itself couldn't really be improved. It's on a quiet, though fast B road, and it's a walk to the beach, with no grocery shops within easy walking distance. But these were far from being insurmountable problems!
