Nina Angkor Residence

A very good hotel, also the private pool beside and the rooms are spacious and comfortable !! A perfect place to stay after a whole day hot activities !! highly recommended !!

The only 1 minor problem is the residence far away from the town around 5-10 min !! but not a big deal !!

The hotel arranged for us to be collected from the pier after we arrived by boat from Battambang. There are some really luxurious features to the room design including a huge bath, unique sink and a lovely plunge pool that is great for cooling off after a hot day exploring the temples.

The location is OK not too far out of town but you would need to get a tuk tuk - staff were quite pushy with trying to organise their own drivers for us which would have been alot more expensive than using Grab or arranging your own tuk tuks. The bed was very uncomfortable with springs sticking into our backs - I think the mattress probably needs changing and you only get one pillow each so we didn't sleep very well at all during our stay. Some of the other elements of the room were not to a great standard including some of the sockets where the covers just come off. The breakfast was underwhelming, effectively the only realistic breakfast option is omelette and bread - on the first day this was brought straight out in seconds and was dry as if it had been sat out for a while. The second time we had breakfast the egg was undercooked so we couldn't finish it so the third time we passed on breakfast. Finally the payment experience was a bit confusing- when we checked in we were given the option to pay by card but were told this would be more due to a 2% government tax so we delayed paying initially and said we would pay later in our stay. We decided we would pay the government tax and pay by card as this was cheaper than ATM transaction fees for taking out more cash. When we went to pay on our final night we were told we must pay by cash and that the card machine wasn't working. The machine not working seemed very convenient timing and meant we had to go to an ATM to get more cash out and pay transaction fees for doing so. It seems from other reviews the owner is quite defensive regarding negative feedback but I hope they take some of the feedback on board as if they can improve some of the basics they already have some luxurious features and that would make this a great place to stay.
