Parking, there is no on-street parking immediately outside the property. However, you can park at the rear of the property in the shared lane. As the lane also provides access for neighbouring properties, you may need to coordinate with neighbours to ensure cars can come and go freely during the day. Alternatively there are car parks in town which are within close walking distance (5-10 minutes at the most). Once you arrive you’ll step inside to a cosy entrance hall, leading directly into the characterful living room. Here, an original Art Nouveau fireplace sits alongside sumptuous sofas and a Smart TV — the perfect spot to relax and unwind after a day exploring the fells or discovering Kendal. The dining room, accessed open plan from the living room, has a stylish table with seating for six, atmospheric lighting and a retro sideboard stocked with toys, board games and books. It’s a lovely space for everything from leisurely breakfasts to relaxed evenings together. At the rear of the house, the well-equipped kitchen has everything you need for your stay, including a coffee machine for that all-important morning brew. There is also a separate outhouse on the ground floor, located just outside next to the kitchen, which houses the downstairs toilet, washing machine and additional storage (for bikes, muddy boots and coats). The main bathroom, with its toilet, is located on the top floor of the house (up two flights of stairs). Sleeping, the first floor has two bedrooms: a twin room to the rear and a spacious king-size room at the front. Both bedrooms have hanging rails and storage for your belongings. Head up another flight of stairs and you’ll find the beautiful main bathroom, featuring a walk-in shower, roll-top bath, vanity unit with inset sink, toilet and an illuminated LED mirror. Also on this floor is the master bedroom, with a luxurious super king-size zip-and-link bed. Explore Kendal & the Lake District, once you arrive, you can leave the car behind and make the most of this fantastic location. If you’ve never visited Kendal before, you’re perfectly placed to enjoy the best of both worlds: the spectacular Lake District is right on your doorstep, while Kendal itself has a thriving independent and creative scene. Just a street away you’ll find Bowness Bay Microbrewery, a pottery and screen-printing studio, a gym, a flower shop, a pizza van and a craft pub. Head towards the river and cross the bridge to discover a children’s play area, making the location particularly convenient for families. Kendal has plenty to keep you busy, with well-known high-street names sitting alongside independent shops, a weekly outdoor market selling everything from local crafts to clothing, and a permanent indoor market open daily. For a taste of the town’s history, visit Kendal Museum, which dates back to 1796 and houses collections covering local history and archaeology, as well as an extensive natural history collection. And when you’re ready to venture further afield, the Lake District is yours to explore, while the Yorkshire Dales National Park is around 30 minutes by car. The popular waterfall trail and caves at Ingleton are also within easy reach. With so much to see and do right on your doorstep, you’ll be spoilt for choice. We really hope you enjoy your stay at Raven House and make some wonderful memories! Beach 12 miles. Pub and restaurant 176 yards.
