Perfect location in centre of village, making it easy to walk to the 8 Sails Brewery, two pubs, shops and the station if necessary. Property was very comfortable, clean and just as described. Dee was a wonderful host.

Didn't have breakfast, tea, coffee and biscuits were available on arrival.
Floors were creaky and, as we are both in our 70's, using the loo at night disturbed the other person. Not a disastrous thing but it did lead to a disturbed night for both of us.

The location was good given that we were going to a wedding within walking distance
We had a very disappointing experience at this accommodation. The landlady had agreed that we could access the property slightly earlier than the usual check-in time. However, when we arrived, the key was not available, and the landlady could not be contacted, despite several attempts by both us and her acquaintances.
After many hours of travelling and then more time trying to contact her, we were left with no option but to find alternative accommodation to ensure we had somewhere to stay that night. This meant we were unable to visit the Heckington Windmill and brewery as we had intended to do. It quite ruined our day.
The landlady eventually contacted us to say that she had arrived with the key. By that stage, it was far too late for us to change our arrangements for alternative accommodation that night.
As we were attending a wedding the following day, we agreed that we would instead access the property the following morning. While we appreciate that compensation was offered, it amounted to less than half of the cost of our stay and did not cover the additional expenses we incurred as a direct result of being unable to access the accommodation as and when agreed.
When we questioned this, we were extremely surprised to be told by the landlady that, in fact, we were the ones who owed her money. This was particularly disappointing given the circumstances and the costs we had already incurred through no fault of our own.
Unfortunately, we would not stay here again. The experience has left us with serious concerns about the management of the property and the reliability of the arrangements made with guests. We would strongly recommend that prospective guests consider this when booking.
