This is such a great hidden gem. Only a quick (less than 10minute drive) from the beach town of El Tunco. If renting a car, there is safe parking available on the Casa Maya property and parking lots for a fee ($3) at El Tunco. The Casa Maya staff, including the parking attendant Luis who helped bring our bags in, were very kind and helpful throughout our whole stay. The check in process was quick and easy! Once inside our room, it was very beautiful, well kept and very clean. You can tell they maintain the property. Additionally, the views of the pool and restaurant overlooking the water are breathtaking. There are many lounging chairs, couple hammocks, and couches to relax on. There is also a cool cave you can explore on the property and swimming areas, but be mindful there are many huge rocks. Breakfast served was traditional Salvadoran platters but also included other options such as pancakes and crepes. The drinks were also delicious and the wait staff were very friendly. They do offer lunch and dinner, but we did not have a chance to try. There are also many great restaurants to try nearby, including Betos (highly recommend). Lastly, this resort does offer additional amenities such as massages, surf lessons, and tour to Santa Ana volcano! Be sure to ask and check it out.

The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The breakfast offerings were enjoyable, and the staff was generally friendly and welcoming.
However, there were a few aspects of the experience that felt unprofessional. During conversations with staff, I was told, “Please don’t tell the manager what I said,” which created an uncomfortable impression and did not inspire confidence.
Additionally, the individual coordinating the tours had a communication style that I found somewhat off-putting. His demeanor came across as overly macho, and at times it felt as though he assumed that, because we were women, we needed him to ensure our safety while hiking the volcano. While I appreciate the importance of guest safety, the approach felt unnecessarily patronizing and made us uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, this experience influenced our decision to book our tour with another company. This was disappointing, as we had originally hoped to support the hotel by purchasing the tour through them.
Overall it was a good experience.
