This is a delightful B&B in a meticulously kept property that has a history of its own as a train station. A very welcoming host (who make a fabulous pot of tea on arrival), very comfortable room and a breakfast that would feed the hungriest of guests! Well worth the short trip from Durham to stay with Lanchester also having a few eateries to choose from. Everything was terrific with the only personal preference being to have had a kettle and small tea service within the room (rather than on the landing) as may have been a little awkward in the morning if other guests had been across the corridor. As this wasn't the case, we can't fault our stay and would definitely stay here again if in the area.

This place deserves more than an exceptional rating. Beautiful high end finishes, exceptional full breakfast, great garden space and the loveliest, most welcoming host. I cannot praise this home highly enough.

Excepionally well appointed. Station House has everything and more that my wife and I required. The kitchen has a full size cooker and all the pans and utensils to prepare whatever meals we chose. Kettle and toaster are both expensive devices manufactured by Sage. The coffee pod machine has at least four pods per day provided and there is a selection of every type of tea imaginable. The fridge came stocked with milk eggs a local Durham butter. The bathroom has a full size bath and shower and it also has a quality range of soaps and shampoo. Outside there is a private garden area with seating.
A fantastic place to stay.
