⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Wonderful Stay at Aqua Sunset, Gulhi
We stayed at Aqua Sunset in Gulhi from August 29 to September 1 with full board, and we had such a wonderful experience.
From the very beginning, the owner was incredibly responsive and helpful. He guided us from A to Z, including transportation arrangements and ferry timing, which made our journey from Malé to Gulhi completely smooth and stress-free.
The staff were also excellent — very friendly, attentive, and helpful. They picked us up and dropped us off at the port, making everything so convenient. I also requested vegetarian and low-salt fish meals, and they were kind enough to accommodate my preferences.
The location is perfect if you want to escape the busy city life and enjoy a peaceful island atmosphere. The property is close to the public beach, and it’s only around 5 minutes to the bikini beach, which was very convenient for us.
What made our stay even more special was the owner’s generosity. He allowed us to stay until 3:30 PM on our departure day and even provided complimentary lunch, which we truly appreciated.
Overall, Aqua Sunset gave us not only a comfortable stay but also a very smooth and enjoyable island experience. The excellent service, helpful staff, thoughtful owner, and convenient location made our trip to Gulhi memorable.

The location is really good. Right in front of the local beach, which we found really good despite all the sand bags. The corals are just right there and we snorkelled most of the time.
Everyone was nice. What worries us a bit is that massive fake island resorts are being built all around, specially in front of the nice bikini beach, i cant stop thinking that this is not good for the marine life around it. Anyway this has nothing to do with the hotel. I really believe Aqua Sunset has the most privileged location on the small island. Right by the sea, by the port, by the very nice local beach with its corals and reef. We had all inclusive, which was nice.

Included breakfast and lunch were nice - especially the no-alcohol mojito with lunch! The bed was very comfortable and the air con worked really well. The towels were great, for the bathroom and extras for the beach.
Gulhi is very small. The beach is beautiful. There are enough restaurants to try. It is a quiet place, so bring books and relax in a swing!
Communication was poor - I had arranged/discussed booking the speedboat from Male airport to Gulhi, which had been arranged. But we weren’t told where the boat left from! It was luck that I re-asked on arrival half an hour before the boat left, that I found out where. When we arrived at the property, the main boss was away and the other staff seemed unaware we were coming which led to confusion. There was no tour info given.
Finally we were allocated the smallest room, with a window looking onto the wall 1/2 a metre away of the building next door. It looked nothing like the photos of the room that I had booked.
