Conveniently located just minutes away from the popular Nantahala Outdoor Center sits the beautiful Above the Clouds cabin. The area around the cabin is minimally developed and retains a peaceful and natural setting. Experience the World famous White Water Rafting and zip line excursions within the Nantahala Gorge or partake in one of the delicious restaurant options over at the Outdoor Center for some real culinary enjoyment. You can reach the Almond Boat Dock on Fontana Lake for some great swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, and canoeing options in about 10 minutes, or enjoy some amazing Mountain Biking at the prominent Tsali Recreation Center located approximately 15 minutes away. The charming town of Bryson City is a scenic 25 minutes drive away from this cabin where you can enjoy some wonderful local shops, restaurants, and breweries or check out the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad train depot all located in downtown Bryson City. You can also access the Deep Creek entrance into the GSMNP while in town, that is packed with great hiking trails, beautiful waterfalls, and in the Spring and Summer months, excellent mountain tubing! The Harrahs Casino, Oconaluftee River hiking trails & tubing, the popular Mingo & Soco waterfalls, and the Sequoyah National Golf Course are all located about 35 minutes away in Cherokee, NC.

Cars and Most All vehicles. The roads to this cabin are not considered 'Motorcycle Friendly'.

Appropriately named, this cabin will have you feeling like you are soaring up Above the Clouds with endless Smoky Mountain views! The cabin provides a spacious deck that perfectly showcases the stunning views and is furnished with plenty of comfortable seating options for your observation pleasure. The deck is also equipped with a gas grill and wonderful outdoor dining table with seating for 6. Down in the yard there is a beautiful stone fire pit with adirondack chairs surrounding and a covered hot tub that sits adjacent.

(October 2024)We absolutely loved our stay and I look forward to an even longer stay the next time! The property area, home and view were gorgeous!!! The only problem we had was the Asian beatles, that swarmed and took over the deck and it made afternoon sitting an absolute nightmare! We couldn’t sit outside in the evening because they literally swarmed you. I was very disappointed I couldn’t enjoy an afternoon sunset and dinner on the porch. This is an act of nature, I don’t think there’s much that can be done. Our next trip we hope to plan during a season they’re not active. We love our stay here and usually most places we stay check a lot of the boxes, this one checked all of the boxes. You can feel the love the owners have of this home and the cozy decor.

This cabin was perfect, the inside was extremely clean and decorated with such a personal, warm, welcoming and comfortable feel. The outside was exceptional as well, the views from every area on the porches were breathtaking. It was at the end of the road which gave us all of the privacy of our getaway that we needed. We could not have wished for anything more, we will definitely make a trip back again..
