Beautiful gîte in the countryside. It’s in a peaceful rural setting but only 20 minutes drive to Bayeux. Hosts live in the property next door and the gîte has a private gated entrance with parking for 2 cars. Very spacious open plan downstairs, extremely well-equipped kitchen, nice private garden area with outdoor seating. Upstairs there are 2 twin rooms and 1 double, a big bathroom with separate toilet. Beds were very comfortable and lovely big windows in every room. Floor-standing fans were available which was great.
Upstairs is accessed by a narrow spiral staircase. This should be fine for most people but may be challenging for those with mobility issues. It’s a very old building which creaks a lot when people move around - we found this added to the charm but is something to consider if you are a light sleeper! The driveway is quite narrow but is not a problem unless you are driving a huge SUV.
