Op een mooie, hoge en rustige plek gelegen in de leuke plaats Mirik, 40 km van Darjeeling. (Vanwege theetuinbezoek was ik hier)
Heel groot balkon, kluisje, radiator, thee en koffie, water, badjas, toiletartikelen....etc.
Het internet in de kamer haperde soms een beetje, maar ze hebben op de bovenste etage een ruimte met een goede 4G verbinding, waar je prettig kunt zitten en internetten.
Meer een tip: de meeste hotels hebben een bordje om aan de deur te hangen met: "Don't disturb" of aan de andere kant "Please clean mij room". Dat miste ik een beetje.

Frequent power cuts but the property can’t be blamed for that. Power back up by Generator needs to be improved.

We visited Amaira Resort in April and booked the family room. It was me, my wife, our 9-month-old daughter, and my in-laws.
The resort is beautifully decorated and offers a game room that both adults and children can enjoy. There's also a dining room and an open rooftop seating area where you can sip tea or coffee while soaking in the stunning surroundings. The location is delightfully secluded, which we really appreciated—it felt like a true getaway. At times, the clouds literally drifted into our room, creating a magical experience.
The food was excellent. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and the staff were extremely courteous and attentive to all our needs. The lunch and dinner menus offered decent variety, and everything we tried was fresh and flavorful. The staff went out of their way to prepare a special khichdi with just boiled vegetables and no salt for our baby, which we truly appreciated.
Room service was prompt, and every staff member was warm, helpful, and always greeted us with a smile—it really uplifted the overall mood of our stay. They provided us with a small tour of the plants and veggies they grow in the land behind the resort. Introduced us to the dogs and incredibly cute puppies who stays in the resorts as well.
The rooms themselves were beautifully designed and well-maintained. The bathroom was particularly impressive—spacious, clean, and equipped with a bathtub and 24-hour hot water.
The only slight drawback was that the family room appeared larger in the photos than it actually was. Still, it was spacious and comfortable enough for four adults and a child.
Prices—both for the rooms and the restaurant—are on the higher side, but given the exceptional service and overall experience, they felt reasonably justified.
Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would highly recommend Amaira Resort to anyone looking for a peaceful, nature-filled retreat. If it fits your budget, I’m confident you’ll enjoy it as much as we did.

A lovely small resort in a peaceful location. Full marks to the staff who go all out to make the experience exceptional. A shout out to the manager Aashish . Food is fresh and delicious and rooms are spacious and clean.
