Everything, it was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed. Everything was clean and all rooms was recently renovated with high quality materials. If I come back to Malta in future totally will stay here again!

Great location, comfortable bed, immaculately clean, helpful staff (particularly with storing bags after check-out). It was a lovely place to stay while spending a few nights in Malta!

There were several things I genuinely liked about the hotel. The self-check-in instructions were clear, the TV and sound system were nice, and I appreciated that the sound system was connected to the bathroom. The AC worked well, minibar prices were reasonable, and coffee and tea were replenished in the room every day.
On arrival, I found that the safe had already been locked and an employee helped resolve this very quickly the following morning.
The cleaning staff also did a good job throughout the stay.
For a 4-star hotel, I expected much better standards:
Twin room request: I specifically requested a Twin room multiple times before arrival and was told the request was noted. I relied on this when keeping the booking. Upon arrival, we were told that “noted” did not mean confirmed, leaving us in a double room. This was extremely disappointing and should have been communicated clearly beforehand.
Towels & amenities: Only 2 towels per person were provided, with no slippers or robes. When we requested additional towels, we received one extra each, but after cleaning the next day we were back to only 2.
Breakfast: Very limited selection and a tiny, cramped breakfast room with only 4 tables. A cheaper 3-star hotel I stayed at in Sliema previously had a significantly better breakfast.
Reception: Reception appeared to operate only during limited morning hours, with nobody available after around 5 PM. This is not appropriate for a 4-star hotel.
Bathroom privacy: The toilet door has no lock and has large gaps on both sides, providing essentially no privacy.
Electrical outlets: The bedside outlets repeatedly stopped working, resulting in our phones and other devices not charging overnight on two consecutive days.
Based on this experience, I genuinely struggle to understand how Marea Boutique Hotel maintains its 4-star classification - If Malta follows the European standards, I expect and hope it to change soon.
