Relais Della Rovere

What a beautiful hotel, our rooms amazing and bed was very comfy. Close to the city and a short drive to other beautiful towns within the region. On arrival we were greeted by Jess at reception and she was an absolute pleasure to talk to. Great recommendations for things in the area. This hotel has an incredible restaurant on site and the breakfast room is one of the best we’ve ever had, what a delightful place to stay

LOVED the grounds! Absolutely gorgeous. You are staying in a thousand year old abbey and it feels Like you’ve stepped back in time in a really grand way. The restaurant was wonderful and had lots of fantastic food and wine service was impeccable. We also loved being so close to town and centrally located to lots of Tuscan towns. Gorgeous drives to Volterra and San Gimignano. Rooms gorgeous. Bathrooms were large and spacious. Breakfast was nice with scrambled eggs and lots of home made sweets. Make sure to explore in town Colle di Val D’Elsa. And also highly recommend walking across the street to the local deli to have an aperitivo or a beer. You’ll feel like a local and save a few bucks. Loved our stay. Would highly recommend.

Not much as we really did enjoy our stay but would highly recommend a few bed upgrades. The mattress in our Jr Suite was not good. Flat, old and lumpy. My husband’s back ached after a few nights. And the pillows were not good either. Both are in definite need of upgrade. The other thing we did not like was canned (not fresh) fruit at breakfast but again, being picky here.

Relais Della Rovere is a beautiful and truly special hotel, full of character and history. The property dates back to the 12th century, when it was built by Benedictine monks, and later became the residence of Cardinal Giuliano Della Rovere, who went on to become Pope Julius II, one of the great patrons of the Renaissance. (Relais della Rovere) Staying in such a historic setting adds a unique atmosphere to the whole experience. We had a very spacious and beautifully decorated room that comfortably accommodated all four of us. The hotel grounds and swimming pool area are gorgeous, breakfast was wonderful, and the service throughout our stay was excellent. The staff were genuinely warm, welcoming, and attentive, always happy to help and accommodate our requests. One of the highlights of our stay was dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, Il Cardinale, located in the historic cellars of the villa. (Relais della Rovere) The dinner was exceptional—beautifully prepared, delicious, and one of the most memorable meals of our trip. A wonderful combination of Tuscan charm, fascinating history, excellent food, and warm hospitality. We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend Relais Della Rovere.

Overall the experience was nice, the pool was amazing.

The bed was super uncomfortable, even when we turned off the air conditioning, it kept turning on again by itself. The breakfast can be better compared to other hotels I have been in Italy
