Hotel San Michele

Outstanding one night stay at this beautiful hotel right in the centre of Cortona. We were given a room upgrade and were also able to check in early. The hotel organised parking with valet service. So much appreciated given we had a lot of luggage. Our room was huge with wonderful period features. Breakfast was lovely and served on an outside terrace. Cannot rate this hotel highly enough for its charm and service . Do not hesitate to book.

The staff was especially helpful and thoughtful, allowing me to check in at 10, showing me to the room and making sure i could access the wireless. The manager recommended a taxi to the train as i was leaving on a Sunday, and arranged that for me. The complimentary water in the mini fridge was a treat, and the bathroom was generously large. Location was perfect to reach the Museos and the town market but on a side street away from the hubbub. Breakfast was delicious and generous with quality coffee both American and capuccino and a selection of cheeses and breads, fresh fruit, juices, and apricot and fig coffee cakes. The AC kicked in quickly to make the spacious room fully comfortable.

Location was great near town square. Property ambience was reflective of 1800s home, which was expected. Great staff.

Breakfast was same each day with no variation. Room was decent size however the bathtub space was extremely small to even move hands freely during shower!! Water bottles not provided during cleaning however were provided on request.Beds could be enhanced to be bit higher size and more quality mattress.
