My son visited the restaurant portion of pier view before and staff really went out of their way to make it a special night, as he was celebrating his 18th birthday, having had to travel for a course. The food was perfect both on this visit and the last.My son said it was the best restaurant he has ever eaten in.
He ha a serious accident on his last visit requiring paramedics and a hospital visit. He had a sublaxated vertebrae and was in in agony.
We really appreciated staff sending bottled water up for him as he was in pretty bad shape his last day there. The kindness was a small gesture but much appreciated. It wasnice to feel he was taken care of away from home.
Also the location is ideal, less than a minutes walk to red jet ferry and public transport, shops and restaurants nearby and walking distance to UKSA campus.
Honestly everything was perfect except his accident, which was not hotles fault.
Only issue at all is no easy way to let paramedics in for someone alone and sick enough to have trouble getting to main door. He had to crawl to unlock it.
I dont know what could be done about it, but I was thinking it would be nice if hotels that dont have staff present all night could have some system for fire department or paramedics, but you never think of such things until something happens and I am sure the same issue would arise wih any place with two doors, or even one if the guest couldnt make it that far.
