WAW hotel is at perfect location to explore the city further, 2 min from Tophane tramway (T1) station, easy reachable on foot. It also has an elevator, so no fuss with stairs to higher floors. My de luxe double at 6th floor was extremely spacious, had a huge and comfortable bed, an ensuite and a huge private outdoor terrace. AC worked well, there was hot water, towels and slippers provided, although there is no kitchenette, a small fridge is provided, big enough for daily use.

The terrace at 6th floor was spacious and had a wonderful view, but the outdoor furniture was a bit outdated and not thoroughly cleaned. The terrace is also frequently visited by local seagulls and craws, which is really not a bad experience per se, rather quite a spectacular one. The main thing that bothered me were a moldy shower door, which is a real pity, since it would only took a proper product use to eliminate in 10 min. It had no smell though.

The location and amenities of the property are great for the price. The location in particular is just 5 minutes away from one of Istanbul's most popular spots in recent years (Galataport). It is right at the heart of the transportation network.

The windows provide fairly good sound insulation, but a good pair of earplugs will ensure a comfortable stay.

Title: Review of Wow Galata Hotel I stayed at Wow Galata Hotel and given that it is a four-star budget hotel, I would suggest that you manage your expectations accordingly. I initially booked a room with a balcony on the sixth floor. Unfortunately, the view from the balcony wasn’t really worth the extra money, and the AC in my room wasn’t working. It was extremely hot. I informed the hotel the same day and was told that a mechanic would be called. When I returned that evening, I was told it had been fixed, but unfortunately the AC still didn’t work throughout the night. I have to give credit to the hotel staff, they were consistently kind, helpful and accommodating. They eventually moved me to another room on the fourth floor, which was spacious, with a good-sized bathroom, and I was quite happy with the room. The only issue was the noise from the street was very loud throughout the night. Then came the electricity problem. The following morning, the power went out across the entire area. The hotel managed to run the generator for several hours, but eventually the generator also had to be switched off. The hotel contacted the electricity department, and the authorities came and restored power to the whole street but unfortunately, the hotel itself was still without electricity. Later that night, the hotel managed to arrange fuel and get the generator running again. That said, this is one area where I think the hotel could have done better by having sufficient backup fuel ready for the generator. It would have made a big difference. We ended up waiting until almost midnight for fuel to be arranged. The biggest plus point is the location. I would give the location 5/5. The hotel is very conveniently located close to Tophane Metro station and bus connections, and it is within easy reach of Galataport and many of Istanbul’s main tourist attractions. You can get around very easily from here, which is a major advantage.

The street where the hotel is situated is a little disappointing, noisy with construction work ongoing. Right opposite the hotel I guess was a storage facility, where fresh supplies were brought past midnight and the workers were very loud. No soundproofing.
