Nice owners, decor, setting.
Warning:Rome2Rio shows this location is a 21 minute taxi ride to port Barton. It is actually 1-1.5 hour by expensive (3k PHP as of 2/25) hired car ride on winding bumpy roads that made us carsick.
Warning: booking.com allowed me to book and pay for a balcony room and I chose the place because of the belief that I could sleep with open windows surrounded by trees and green in a romantic setting (as well as the belief that it was 21 minutes from port Barton by taxi). Upon arrival we were switched to a downstairs room with a small window facing concrete and had to run the ac (which makes me sick) at night. The owner explained that the room snafu was a mistake and schmoozed us with cheap wine and it was not possible to find other accommodations in this very remote area. I tried to be friendly and enjoyed chatting with the owner.
Warning: power shut off for several hours overnight, which didn't bother me until a noisy, fuming generator was switched on after some commotion. I slept approx one hour that night, as the cheap wine triggered a migraine. Generator noise and fumes didn't help.
Few of these issues were the fault of the owners, but I believe booking com advertises this place incorrectly and I was expecting a romantic beach getaway near the edge of port Barton. This is a remote area where my Filipina gf did not feel safe at the beach (but I enjoyed the quiet beach until stray dogs took note of me, then I just went in the water and they were not really bothersome). There were no people on the beach but some in the vegetation nearby. It is quite near the San Vicente airport and a few walled gated resorts. The food was average. Coffee was better than average. Nobody smoked where we sat. The bed we got was probably comfortable and the room was well decorated and equipped.
