I loved this place. It's on a backstreet, just off the main drag, and it consists of four rooms/mini apartments built on the flat roof of a one story building. Access is via an external staircase, and each room has an outside door leading to the walled roof which serves as a corridor. In such a set up there was no need for staff, I got a message with my room number and a code for the door, and at the external staircase there was a noticeboard which had a cellphone number to call if there were problems.
The room had everything you would expect such as heating/aircon/ a fridge etc. And others that you wouldn't such as a microwave, washing machine, and (I liked this touch) plates and cutlery. There were postcards of Paris on the wall. Overall, I got the impression that good people had given some thought into how to furnish the room.
It was five minutes walk from the river, if that, and from there a short stroll to the restaurants, cafes, and the night market. It's an easy walk from the bus station, but a taxi or bus ride from the train station (as is everywhere in Danyang).
I was in Danyang to run the marathon. If it had been offered, I would have been willing to pay extra for late checkout. Other than that I have no issues. I would heartily recommend this place to others.

It was decent
- Hard to get a taxi
- Can easily hear noises
- Nowhere to set luggage/bags
- Only 1 bath towel was provided (few hand towels were provided)

Muy practico, limpio y agradable

Buses run from town center to the train station then short walk up hill to the apartment. The apartment was equipped with clothes washing machine. Everything worked well.
Plates, cups and cutlery would improve the experience of having an apartment.
