Tolle Unterkunft! Nishantha war ein toller Gastgeber, wir erhielten leckeres Essen und unser Zimmer hatte direkten Meerblick. Der Pool war eine tolle Erfrischung. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Chilaw is not your usual tourist stomp, we visited for a wedding and it was amazing to experience authentic Sri Lankan culture. The locals are kind and welcoming and excited for you to visit their beautiful coastal town.
Spice of Ceylon is absolutely the best hotel in this area, Nishandah the hotel manager is amazing, so welcoming and accommodating but more than that we now consider him a friend. The food at the hotel is home cooked Sri Lankan food at its best but tell them if you can't handle the Spice and they will do everything to accommodate your taste. The rooms face the ocean giving nice breezes through the large and clean rooms. We loved our stay here! Thank you for having us, we look forward to seeing you again! Zoe & Roo

Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön und schlicht eingerichtet, sauber, die Zimmer haben Holzböden und sind sehr hoch. Die Menschen, die dort arbeiten, sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Es kommt auf Wunsch ein ayuvedischer Masseur, der sehr zu empfehlen ist.
Der Strand, der direkt gegenüber des Hotels liegt, lädt nicht zum Verweilen ein, da er sehr verschmutzt ist.

The building itself is beautiful. Well crafted and grand in design. The lawn area at the front of the building was well kept. The balcony had a beautiful view of the ocean, and it was lovely falling asleep to the sound of the waves. The staff were phenomenal, extremely friendly and hospitable. The highlight of our trip was the home cooked meal that they went out of their way to prepare for us, even though we were the only guest staying at the hotel. I am an ex chef and I was extremely impressed with the food. Best meal that we’ve had in Sri Lanka actually.
We are traveling in low season and as a result, it transpired that we were the only guests at the time of our visit. Due to low season, I expect that the staff numbers were reduced and as a result, the property was maybe not as clean and well kept as it usually is. The pool had algae. The location is also very remote. There was nothing to do here other than stay at the hotel and relax which is what we did.
