My room was very comfortable overall. The heater provided blew hot air and could be adjusted, which made it a wonderful campanion to have. Since the room was small, it was very easy to warm up and keep it that way. There was a fridge in the room, and the bed was comfy. The owner is friendly and helpful, she was able to accommodate me when I arrived early in the morning tired from my overnight ferry and even gave me my room without having to wait for check-in. The kitchen is well equipped, and having to climb stairs several times a day was good to ease tension from sitting in my room. I was impressed that the obnoxious snoring or loud teevees of other guests could not make it into my room.
My greatest source of stress came from the hoons turning Chapel Street into their playground. The amount of environmental destruction and noise they generated on both of the Saturdays I was there is atrocious and it seems the authorities cant do anything to stop them. It's really sad as if we were to shift this property a few hundred meters west, it would be in an idyllic neighborhood... It was a little annoying that I had to step outside the building to use the toilet, but I got used to it by the second day. Besides the hoons, there will be occasional noise from the area, but only the hoon noises were an actual threat. Probably best to avoid Saturdays, and definitely avoid checking out on Sunday as you may not be able to have a good rest before departing.

The room was clean and had its own private bathroom, which was very convenient. I also appreciated the small fridge inside the room. Check-in and check-out were very easy and everything was handled smoothly via Booking.
The location is great, close to shops and restaurants in Chapel Street.
The biggest issue was the cold: the window has a large gap, so cold air and noise from outside come in constantly. I tried to cover it with a towel, but it was still very cold. There’s no fixed heater, only an electric one, but it didn’t warm the room enough.
Unfortunately for me, it was quite cold in Melbourne during my stay, but I guess it would be much better during summer.
