Villa Cuco sleeps 12 in 5 bedrooms on a private 8,000 m2 estate in the hills near Gregórios, between Silves and Messines. Private 9 x 4 m pool, 4 bathrooms, air conditioning, outdoor kitchen with built-in barbecue, and no neighbours in sight. Beaches 25 minutes, Faro airport 50 minutes.



The space



Renovated under an architect's supervision, mixing modern comfort with rustic Algarve character. The living and dining room has a high wooden ceiling, a fireplace and folding doors onto the terrace, where most of the living happens: a long dining table under old olive trees looking over the pool and the hills. Several more terraces and a cushioned veranda let you follow the shade around the day.



The kitchen is fully equipped for 12. If you'd rather not cook, we can arrange a private chef in advance for lunch or dinner, Portuguese or international (paid extra, ask for rates).

Families



Two cots, two high chairs, children's cutlery and crockery, and a dedicated play area in the garden. The pool is 1.8 m deep throughout, unheated and unfenced, so young children need supervision.



The area



Silves, the old Moorish capital with its floodlit sandstone castle, is about 15 minutes away and has the nearest supermarkets (Continente, Lidl, Aldi) plus a good municipal market. Messines, 10 minutes the other way, is a working Portuguese town with proper cafés and no tourism to speak of. Praia Grande de Pêra and Armação de Pêra are around 25 minutes, Portimão and Praia da Rocha around 30. Walking and mountain biking start at the door; golf, tennis, horse riding and watersports are all a short drive.



Good to know



- Rural property. A car is essential. Not much is within walking distance.

- The access road is paved, with a short steep climb up to the parking.

- WiFi around 50 Mbps, fine for streaming and video calls.

- Working farmland all around. Dogs, roosters and the occasional tractor. Quiet, but not silent.
