La Sirenita - Ometepe

The room was clean and included standing fans and mosquito nets. The property was very quiet and peaceful. Watching the sunset from playa mangos next door was the highlight as the views of the volcano are majestic.

In the rainy season, the dirt path down from the main street to the property is muddy. It is also narrow, with barbed wire on both sides and lots of big rocks and tree roots you must avoid. As an inexperienced scooter driver this did make me feel uneasy and I would definitely not be comfortable driving down here in the dark. I stayed in the middle “house” and the wifi in the room was basically nonexistent, however the wifi at the reception area and at playa mangos next door was excellent. There were some dogs barking/fighting in the night, and the dogs tend to sleep outside your “house” so if you are scared of dogs this is not the best place.

Fantastic stay!! I only wish we stayed longer here. Yes it is rustic, but for those who love the outdoors and nature, La Sirenita is amazing. It's beautiful and the bed was super comfortable.

The driveway is located about 60m before playa mango's entrance. It was a little sketchy during the rainy season with mud, but it was okay in between rains

Les cabanes sont au plus près de la plage, juste à côté de Playa Mango où il est possible de manger. Tout le monde vient ici pour voir le coucher de soleil qui est sublime : vous avez votre propre plage ! On peut aussi faire sa propre cuisine et partir en kayak pour voir les caïmans, juste à côté. Les chiens sont exceptionnels, très amicaux: j’ai eu un coup de cœur pour l’un d’eux, et la proximité des animaux donne le sentiment de vivre en harmonie avec la nature.

Le confort est un peu rudimentaire mais c’est aussi et surtout la proximité avec la nature et la simplicité que l’on vient chercher ici.
