Ideally located, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the rooms and public spaces were very clean, the other guests were all very pleasant, breakfast was simple but had a nice variety and was filling, the lunches were again simple but absolutely delicious and filling, and the pool area and newly refurbished reception/casual seating areas are gorgeous.
We were told the rooms are being refurbished over this coming winter and, although they were very clean and very comfortable, the cupboards, all the wooden doors and the bathroom are tired. We always had water on the floor and weren’t sure if it was a leaking shower or toilet seal. Not a big deal, but glad to hear they are being refreshed soon.

the lobby and pool area were clearly renovated recently and give you a feeling that you're in a much more luxurious hotel than it actually is
then you are met with a particular moody male bar-tender, a mediocre breakfast and rooms that have not still been renovated (loud, old aircons and leaky bathrooms) and you are reminded that this is a 2-star hotel.
