When we finally reached the apartment it was reversed, two comfortable bedrooms and bathroom downstairs, with the main living area and view of ‘the four chimneys’ upstairs. The balcony was indeed large with a fine view of Lake Como from one side. The kitchen had all modern appliances as well as room for a breakfast table.
The main unwelcome surprise was the lack of a lift to cater for the 61 steps from street door to apartment door. Although our host met us and carried our cases up the stairs it wasn’t until we had made it up through the park to street level.
The kitchen was lacking a few minor but necessary items, a cork screw being one, we left a cheap version but it was not very good.
A major problem, but easily resolved, was earthed appliances (fridge, coffee machine, toaster and kettle) being plugged into unearthed sockets (they were earthed but via the centre pin). One met regulations, another one we found an adaptor for in the bedroom. Two more need to be purchased. I was hoping to bring this to our host’s attention and not raise the issue on a public forum but we left before he appeared.

Beautiful apartment in a great location in beautiful Bellagio, incredible terrace ,everything corresponds to the description, enough space for 4 people, many good restaurants nearby, ferry 5 minutes walk, if you have heavy suitcases, it is better to go around instead of up the stairs, welcome prosecco and a nice host.
There are no basic things like tea, sugar, paper napkins, etc., some of the sockets do not work, only 1 roll of toilet paper for 4 people, and to buy it you have to walk to the supermarket for 20-30 minutes one way. After complaining to the owner, he promised to deliver it, but he did not come.

great location great view new washer and friendly host with some good recommendations.
bedding not the most comfortable. pull out couch was not so great. pillows needed more stuffing. shower was very very short and small with very little water pressure.
