Poor experience and not safe for solo women travelers
Just was a good location, but beside that, everything terrible.
First didn't had a key and didn't felt safe, the room had no lock because the old man (60s) already was in the room drinking wine by himself. No one told me I had to share a key and there were no staff at reception, neither in the morning. (I arrived 8.30 p.m.) Second, rooms were divided by a tin wall so you could heard everything, at least all the people went to sleep early. Third had to sleep at my friend's room (a couple), because I didn't feel safe sharing a room with a guy drinking by himself and also I had my expensive camera gear with me. I was lucky that my friends got a spare bed in their room. Which also was super tiny, there was no room for suitcases. Fourth the room I moved it was too hot, we couldn't open the window because didn't had a mosquito net. And also there were lots of mosquitos inside, we had to kill them in the middle of the night so we didn't had a good rest.

Sheets were clean, bed was comfy. If the building doesn't fall down on you in the night be thankful.
The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. The unit was big enough for our family of 5.
The building is in dire shape and it could fall down at any minute. Cracks in the wall, the floor is on a slant so that you feel like you're walking down hill moving from room to room. Furniture lifted up to level them out.. I also didn't like that we were charged for a unit and then another room which we didn't need and didn't use. No one around to talk to about this either. SO bad.

Just to sleep
The location is the best of the hostel. Very nice area and too close from 12th Apostles It was clean
We couldn’t open the window of our room, because it didn’t have a mosquito net and it was very hot and humid (it was full of insects outside) Also the were only 2 plugs to charge our phones and we were 3 in a room. There was a big family staying at the hostel so they made a lot of noise. it only have 2 or 3 showers and was all wet around the bathroom

The stay was disappointing, with unclean rooms, prior occupancy, and a mismatch for families.
Despite these issues, the surroundings were beautiful
This accommodation is unsuitable for families and is intended only for backpackers. When we entered the room, other guests were inside, and we had to ask them to vacate so we could use the space. Unfortunately, the rooms were not fresh; they appeared to have been occupied before our arrival, and overall, they were not clean.

In fairness, it was well priced in comparison to all the overpriced accomodation around.
It was a good location to all the main spots we wanted to see along and past the Apostles, Terry the owner was a very nice bloke and helpful for sure.
The premises is in desperate need of an uplift. Kitchen facilities were just ok.

Don’t stay here solo in my opinion
So so quiet. We literally though we were the only ones in the hostel. Kangaroos around the hostel/garden!!
The place of the hostel is very (but very VERY) remote. Nothing around us. No supermarket or place to get food. We already drove miles on the GOR so we had to go back a bit to get food. Kitchen wasn’t the cleanest. Showers so low, I had a hard time showering. Also, love the free shampoos etc but please label it so we know which one is which haha

Just the one night, but would stay again.
Loved seeing the wallabies jumping around the back paddock. Parking and getting there was a breeze.

Fine for a one night stay on the Great Ocean Road.
Location was great- just down the road from the 12 apostles which made it super easy to pop down to see them at sunset. Bed was comfy. Didn’t really see any staff for check in but staff we did see were friendly.
The facilities need a bit of upkeep, showers and kitchen area a bit grotty and not great space for cooking a meal.
