Location:
It is in the centre of the town. It's 3 minute walking distance to the swing bridge. From there, you can turn left to the pier, arcades, pubs and restaurants; cross the bridge to the old town or turn right toward the harbour and train station. The street closest to the property has a few charity shops, cafes, pubs, bars, a Poundland and clothes shops. I can't think of a better location in the middle of Whitby.
The accommodation:
The flat is furnished with everything you need and it's all high quality. The view from the living room is perfect. There is a telescope to watch people climbing the stairs or eating in the restaurant in the old town. There are two large sofas and they both recline - which we found out on our last day. It's tastefully decorated.
The beds were comfortable and everything was clean.
We were obsessed with the view. We turned the TV off to look out of the window.
Car Parking:
You drop off your luggage and then drive up the road, turn left and round the churches. Turn right and go back to the streets on the west cliff (Esplanade, Haverlock, John's street, Crescent Ave. etc). Study a map before you go. You will have to park 15 minute walk away, (but that wasn't a problem for us). You get scratch cards at the accommodation that give you two days parking per card in W zones. Therefore, on morning of day three, you have to change the card before 10am / repeat every two days). There is a disc for parking (1 hour close to town, 3 hours further out), that you can use in the H zones. e.g. at the top of the road outside the flat, there is Pannet Park and you can park there for 2 days with a purple scratch card or 3 hours with the disc.
Bathroom door handle - was a bit difficult until you learn the technique. It works fine, but you have to turn it 100% and press hard.

The view was stunning
The oven didn’t work, I sent 2 emails including one to the owners, without a reply, very poor and expensive for us.
No instructions for any appliances.
Too much personal stuff everywhere.
