Value for money

Secured building with a private parking. Close to all amenities and UCT. Jani was very responsive and the security guy is always pleasant and welcoming.

The staff were amazing and the security was on point! A definite plus!

It was so convenient for traveling by Uber to city center and for popping over to the store for food etc.

The property was perfect, just the apartment could have been a little cleaner. Found a hot water bottle in the drawer still full of water and the coffee percolator had mould in it. Also no instructions on how to use the washing machine or TV. Had to look in the drawers to find the WiFi password. No information on Cape Town sights etc. or about load shedding (not something tourists encounter back home)

Overall I enjoyed my stay, I felt save and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The location were optimal for my travels. It is also near two shopping centres and lots of restaurants. Walking distance.

There was no hairdryer after it was stipulated that there would be one. The fan heater also didn’t work. The towels are also very tiny but you do get four which is very nice.

Obnoxious sewerage odor inside unit

The photos on Booking.com looks deceptively nice.

We could not get past the security gate while Jani Verster was rude and unhelpful; failed to answer telephone calls or messages. When we eventually got to unit 517, the cleaning lady came out with a large can of toilet spray. The unit smelled like sewerage and toilet spray - to such an extent that one feels immediately nauseas. All of the windows were already opened and a fan was trying to blow away the obnoxious odor. This proves that Jani Verster was clearly aware of the unacceptable odor. We left the windows and door open for a few hours (with just the security gate locked), but when we returned, the toilet spray smell was gone and only a very strong sewerage smell remained. I was so nauseas that I almost puked. There was no way that anyone could sleep or eat inside that unit. The faecies smell inside the unit was so bad that everything felt dirty. Again, Jani Verster did not respond to any of our calls or messages when we tried to report the state of the unit to her. We then booked alternative accommodation for the same duration at The Capital Mirage. We also notified Jani Verster as follows: "The accommodation is not acceptable as it smells like an open sewerage in the apartment and we will be vacating immediately and demand a refund from Booking.com. You have not responded to our complaint and did not offer any alternatives. Keys in number box and complaint lodged at Booking.com." To date hereof, Jani Verster has not even read my message. I demand (1) a full refund from Booking.com, and (2) that this property be removed from Booking.com to prevent any other non-suspecting person to fall into this sewerage trap while a "non-refundable" payment is demanded for this terrible property.
