Once one of the community’s original hunting cabins, The Juniper Cabin has been thoughtfully updated into a comfortable modern retreat for couples and small groups. Enjoy a king bedroom, private hot tub, screened porch, outdoor propane fire table, well-equipped kitchen, and peaceful wooded setting, all within easy reach of Shenandoah Valley trails, wineries, and mountain drives.



The Space:

The cabin is compact in the best way, with a connected main living area, two bedrooms, one full bathroom, and outdoor spaces that add plenty of room to spread out. The layout works especially well for couples, with added flexibility for a small family or a few friends.



🍽️ Gather



The open living, dining, and kitchen area keeps the heart of the cabin connected. A painted brick fireplace with an electric insert anchors the living room, while a 70-inch smart TV and comfortable seating make it easy to settle in after a day of hiking, winery visits, or exploring the area.



The kitchen is compact but thoughtfully equipped, with stainless steel appliances and quality small appliances including a Vitamix, KitchenAid mixer, Instant Pot, toaster, and air fryer/convection oven. There is no traditional full-size oven, but the setup works well for everything from breakfast to an easy dinner or a wine and charcuterie night.



A kitchen island with seating for two creates a natural spot to keep someone company while cooking or enjoy your morning coffee, while a separate table for two offers a cozy place for meals. A dedicated coffee station includes Nespresso Vertuo and Keurig machines, a French press, cold brew setup, and starter pods.



🛏️ Rest



The cabin includes two bedrooms and one full bathroom. The primary bedroom has a king bed, while the second bedroom includes a twin trundle and workspace, giving the home flexibility for a small family, an extra guest, or someone who needs a quiet place to get a little work done.



The bathroom includes a walk-in shower along with a combo washer and dryer, convenient for longer stays or simply refreshing a few things after a day on the trails.



♨️ Unwind



The 275-square-foot screened porch is one of our favorite parts of The Juniper Cabin. Surrounded by trees, it feels like an extension of the living space and is an especially good place for morning coffee, meals outside, reading, or relaxing in the hanging egg chairs. Seasonal views open toward the valley through the woods, and the setting changes noticeably throughout the year.



Just below the porch, the lower patio is set up for evenings outside with a private hot tub, outdoor propane fire table, grill, and comfortable seating. It is the kind of space where it is easy to lose track of time, whether you are soaking after a hike or sitting outside with a drink once the sun goes down.



🍷 Explore



The Juniper Cabin makes a comfortable home base for exploring the Shenandoah Valley. Nearby trails, wineries, scenic drives, and mountain towns are all within easy reach, while the cabin gives you a quiet place to come back to when the day is done.



We especially like the balance here. The cabin still feels connected to its original mountain roots, but today it works just as well for a couples weekend, a small family getaway, or a few days spent enjoying the area.



Guest Access:

Guests have access to the entire cabin including screened-in porch, patio, and hot tub. The crawl space under the cabin should only be accessed in the event of an emergency.



The Neighborhood:

The Juniper Cabin sits within Skyland Estates, a quiet mountain community in Virginia’s Blue Ridge region. The neighborhood blends full-time residents, second homes, and a few thoughtfully managed vacation rentals. It’s peaceful and welcoming—close enough to explore nearby wineries, trails, and small towns, yet tucked just far enough away to feel truly private.



Getting Around:

While we encourage you to take a stroll using the mountain roads, a vehicle will be required to reach nearby attractions. The property can accommodate up to two vehicles in the driveway.

📕 Property Guide • Once your booking is confirmed, we’ll share a detailed digital property guide with everything you need for your stay, along with our favorite local wineries, hiking trails, restaurants, and outdoor adventures.



🚗 Vehicle Access • The final stretch of road to The Juniper Cabin is unpaved but generally well maintained. Most of the year, 2WD vehicles can reach the property without issue. During snow or icy conditions, AWD or 4WD is recommended.



📶 Connectivity • The cabin has high-speed WiFi suitable for streaming, remote work, and video calls. Cell service can be limited in the mountains, but WiFi calling generally works well once you’re connected.



🐶 Pets • Up to two dogs are welcome per stay. Please include them in your reservation so the pet fee is applied automatically. Additional dogs may be considered case by case with an added fee. Service animals are always welcome.



🚼 Family-Friendly Amenities • While The Juniper Cabin is especially well suited to couples, it also works comfortably for small families. A Pack ’n Play and full-size high chair are provided.



🧯 Safety & Cleanliness • Bedding, quilts, and blankets are freshly laundered between stays. The cabin is equipped with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguishers. Flashlights and lanterns are also available in case of the occasional mountain power outage.



🦌 Wildlife & Setting • The cabin sits in a quiet mountain community where deer, foxes, wild turkeys, and other wildlife are common. As with any wooded mountain setting, you may also occasionally encounter insects or small critters.
