This is a beautiful victorian 3 bedroomed character property , with well-equipped kitchen, beautiful decor, 3 bedrooms, new comfortable beds 2023, a family bathroom off the third bedroom and an ensuite off the master bedroom and a dowstaird Wc , outdoor seating area, with just a 5 minute walk Into Dartmouth , we have a parking space for the house very close by , we took over Midships recently and refurbished and decorated throughout, the beds are comfortable and the bedding luxurious, we have made this house into something special for you to enjoy during your stay . Books and and plenty of selection of games in the dining room cupboard , nautical feel to the decor , fun crockery , lots of arty touches and a seaside feel for you to enjoy .. Some really lovely cafes and eateries available in Dartmouth with plenty to choose from , boat trips to enjoy, Agatha Christie house near by and a few national trust properties not far away , sandy beaches near by , a theatre and cinema in the town , leisure centre five minute drive from the house , local shops and supermarkets close by , just make a plan and enjoy , a good information folder for you to look through , take a deep breath and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of Midships

The house we stayed in at Dartmouth Midships, was lovely very clean tidy and well equipped, the beds so comfortable.
Everything we hoped for, the hosts were very helpful, nothing to much trouble.
Would definitely stay again.

Everything from the arrival to checking out went super easy, and the property exceeded our expectations. It's even nicer than the pictures show.
We stayed for 2 weeks as a family of two adults and four kids and there was plenty of space for everyone. The decking area at the front is perfect for catching some afternoon and evening sun.
One of the standout features were the beds. The mattresses were unbelievably comfortable!!!
The house is only about a 12 minute walk to the river front, and the parking space is an absolute must. There is limited parking in Dartmouth and having that parking space close by helped a lot.
The house was also immaculately clean when we arrived and has obviously been refurbished to a very high standard recently.
We enjoyed every minute of our 2 weeks and would highly recommend Dartmouth and especially this house for a family holiday.

We really enjoyed our stay at Midships 179. The cottage is lovingly furnished and offers plenty of space. The seating area in front of the house is wonderful (if the sun ever shines 😉 ). Dartmouth was a good base for us for many activities in South Devon. The owners were very helpful and attentive. We can only recommend Midships 179. Thank you very much!

The property is in a lovely location very close to shops and harbour etc .
The property has the added bonus of being able to assist in burning off fat ( walking up the hill) after all that lovely food And drink Dartmouth has to offer, it’s really not a problem my mum is 77 and was able to cope, just take your time.

The house was beautifully clean, warm and welcoming. Everything was perfect for a small celebration of my son’s Passing Out from Britannia RNC. Would definitely recommend Midships!

10 mins walk to town quite steep on way back but there’s a bus to the doorstep every 30 mins. Really warm bid house for a group of 6 . Big enough to have a quiet space to yourself as well. Well equipped kitchen and well worth every penny. We will be booking it again.

Excellently situated in beautiful Dartmouth. Well equipped and comfortable with a valuable parking space. Lovely coastal walks from property. Would highly recommend! Emma is a very responsive host and made us feel most welcome.

Overall really good. Top floor is lovely and bathrooms worked well. Master bed wasn't comfortable due to springs and mattress that moves your partner each time you shift about. Kitchen needs a bigger fridge for a family holidaying when eating out is expensive in the UK. Comfortable everywhere though. Super windows that keep house warm or cool and fun selection of games. Towels and bedding and touches of home everywhere made for an enjoyable stay.

I mention the hill because the only thing anyone needs to be aware of is that there is a significant climb to the house. However, most of Dartmouth is built on a hillside and the house is certainly worth the effort! A beautiful house with everything you need! The owners have gone above and beyond to ensure that a stay at 179 Midships leaves you rested, relaxed and wanting for nothing! I would absolutely come back again and again. A truly beautiful home in a great location.

Overall excellent property and great location. Its own car parking space is a boon. However the mattress's on the adult beds are a little hard. I moved the bunk bed mattress's on to our beds to get a softer 'sleep. I normally sleep on a hard mattress, but those were a little to hard.

Very clean and good size property. The owners were very good at giving us any information we needed. Only thing we would suggest is some sort of lighting on the steps up to the property.

Lovely house. Had everything we needed. Well equipped. The house is on a steep hill with a steep ramp and stairs so no good for anyone with mobility issues. Parking is at the bottom of the steep hill. Did not bother us … kept us fit after all the lovely Dartmouth food. Loved the master bedroom / en-suite.

We loved our stay in Dartmouth at Emmas! She was a brilliant host from our arrival and the place was spotless. The house is furnished to a high standard and the ensuite in the master was a real luxury. Kitchen was really well equipped and we really enjoyed 3 nights (of our 7) enjoying home cooking, snuggled up and staying in! Dartmouth is a beautiful town and we’d really recommend booking Platform One well in advance for a delicious meal.
PS The parking is just down the hill from the house so be sure to offload your luggage before parking up! Emma makes this clear in her instructions for arrival.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful property. Plenty of space and very well equipped. We loved its location, making it very easy to pop into Dartmouth for the shops, boat trips and fish and chips. Even though the parking space was a few minutes down the hill, it was good to have a reserved parking in this busy town. Glad we could unload outside the property! Lovely friendly hosts who answered all our questions before our stay.

Having visited Dartmouth before it was nice to stay in this fabulous well appointed, clean and comfortable cottage. Nick & Emma have decorated this property beautifully and we particularly loved the master bedroom with views over Dartmouth. Communication and instructions were spot on and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay including; multiple ferry crossings, train trip and walk to the castle. The sun came out by Tuesday and we were able to see Dartmouth in all its colourful glory - good topic you have ageing dogs - the number 90 bus stops right outside the door!!! Hope to return - Andrew, Lorraine and canine crew!

The house is clean, spacious and classy. The untencils and crockery are nice quality not the usual rental property range.
We had the en suite bedroom which is huge, airy and an extremely comfortable bed.
It’s quiet to say it’s one of the main roads in, as you are higher than the traffic.
We unloaded outside the property no problem, the other couple had the parking place just down towards town and we parked our free for the week up by the castle.
There are so many lovely dog walks just a short ferry ride across to Kingswear and beyond.
This is our fifth year going to Dartmouth and we feel we have found a gem in the location of the property.
Emma the owner is extremely quick to respond should you have a query too.
It’s a 10 minute stroll into Dartmouth town centre down a gentle hill.
All in all, we had a fantastic week and can’t recommend this property for location and cleanliness enough.
We are booking again next year .

What a lovely house! Midships had everything we needed for our perfect Christmas away. The house is beautiful, warm and just a short walk from the centre of Dartmouth with all it's shops, pubs and the lovely harbour. Don't hesitate to book this wonderful property, you'll love it!

A lovely bottle of wine welcomed us into a property that is very well maintained and has everything you need which creates a home from home. Sofas and beds were very comfortable and the multiple bathrooms/toilets were put to good use. The parking space is a definite plus but the 400m walk up what seemed like Mount Everest was unexpected. Might be worth mentioning in the details as elderly folk might struggle to get up there. We had a minor issue on the first night with the noise from the boiler and the light on the electrical box in the boiler cupboard which was shining into the bedroom through the holes in the door. It also made a noise described by my daughter as a dentist drill occasionally which kept her awake the first night but after that it was fine. (Probably because we turned the thermostat right down.) I would certainly have no problem recommending this property to anyone who wants to explore Dartmouth and the surrounding area but be warned about the walk up the hill :-). A small side note, the WI-FI password on the email attachment is incorrect so we had to get it off the router. Might be worth updating for the future.

This is a spacious, clean, well equipped and comfortable property, ideal for couples or family holidays in a truly beautiful part of Devon. The house is only a short walk to the river and delightful shops, restaurants and convenience stores. With a private car parking space a short distance from the house we couldn’t have asked for much more. All you need for a safe and pleasant stay. Highly recommended.

This is an excellent family friendly house and location within the town.
Everything very clean and functional while also homely and welcoming.
We stayed 2 weeks in Midships, and loved every minute. The kids enjoyed the freedom of walking into town while we could enjoy the relaxed pace of life.
All basic shopping needs are covered within 15 min walking radius while bigger supermarkets are 5 mins drive; beaches in 10 mins, and lovely evenings mooching in bars and restaurants in Dartmouth. Kids loved catching foot ferry at night to Kingswear too for change of scene.
All in all, fully recommend a trip to the sunny South West!

This is a lovely house - with tasteful furnishings. The beds were comfortable and the Wi-fi and smart TV were good as well. We had a lovely week in Dartmouth and would recommend the house but be aware that the walk up the hill from Dartmouth back to the house is up a very steep hill - some days we did this three to four times which was tiring. The parking space was too tight for me to get my car into as there was a car parked in the next space which was a shame.

We loved the property. It was very clean, beautifully presented and tastefully decorated.
The property has everything you need and is well appointed.
The neighbours were very nice and offered help with our cases on arrival as my husband was on crutches.
The location is great and it's handy to have the parking space.
Access to the property was a bit of struggle for my elderly father but we managed.
Although there is a small courtyard area to sit out the back and a small decking area to the front, we didn't find this particularly easy with our dog.
However, the property has more than enough great points to make up for that small inconvenience and we thoroughly enjoyed Midships as a base to explore Dartmouth and the surrounding area.

This is a wonderful property. The house has been thoroughly modernized. All systems are new (Kitchen, baths, electrical, heating, plumbing, etc.). That being said, this house represents exactly what historical renovation should be. Victorian features have been carefully preserved in every room. High end contemporary woodwork accents these features versus detracting from them. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. The heating system was wonderfully effective given the low temperatures during our stay. Neighbors Mae and Shawn were lovely. Emma, the owner, stopped by from Bath to welcome us. I would highly recommend this property without reservation. Parking is a bit of a walk, and there are stairs leading up to the front door, but nothing my 83 year old father couldn't handle. It would probably be a difficulty for the disabled, however. Other than that, everything was perfect. I would most definitely let this property again.

We had a great long weekend at midships, a really comfortable home and the interior is to a lovely specification. The ensuites were very useful as was the downstairs loo.
It allows dogs, you wouldn’t know this though as in it’s very clean and tidy and no dog odours.
A manageable walk into the town and the allocated parking space was a godsend!
Would definitely look to return.

We stayed at the property for a week running into November. The house was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and very well maintained and equipped. It was really warm and welcoming after a days sightseeing. There was good communication from the owners and the instructions were easy to follow. The house is in a good position with the main part of town a short walk away. We would recommend to friends and would use the property again if we return to Dartmouth
