A treasure in the Dolomites
It had long been a dream of mine to spend a week living in the European mountains while working remotely. No car and no hassles wanted, I just wanted convenience, comfort, and mountains. I scoured countries, towns, and AirBNB listings for weeks until I found this absolute gem. Many mountain houses are simply too remote from a town center, too expensive, or the area too much of a hassle to get to. But DolomitiBel Loft in Ponte nelle Alpi, Italy has it all.
Contact with the gracious hosts to handle all my inquiries was seamless leading up to the trip. They are very proud of their listing and wanted to ensure I enjoyed every moment of my trip without hassle. The biggest concern was Wi-Fi, and it worked perfectly in the house with two people working simultaneously.
The idyllic Italian hamlet of Ponte nelle Alpi is nestled in a valley beneath the distinctive peaks of the Dolomite range. Only an hour north of Venice via a coach that leaves directly from Marco Polo airport, then a 10-minute train ride and you are there. The very modern, spacious, and well-appointed 2 bedroom loft is only a 5-minute walk from the train station. From it, everything a person needs is within a 5-minute walk in the small town: a well-appointed supermarket, pizza restaurants, bars, banks, a Tuesday morning market, coffee shops, and bakeries. Access to the Dolomites area is immediate and the town provides a super convenient base from which to explore them if a person wanted to arrive and have a car and do more day tripping. The picturesque town of Belluno is only an 8-minute train ride away, as are several other sightseeing spots.
But the unexpected highlight is without a doubt the spectacular view through the wide glass doors of the accommodation’s main bedroom that looks straight up the impressive valley that leads to Cortina d’Ampezzo, an hour away. Zelo moderno, udobno stanovanje, prijazno osebje. Bivali smo 2 noci. Bili smo v Cortini ter obiskali 5 bliznjih prelazov ter se vrnili nazaj. Idealna lokacija za naš izlet. Tudi trgovina v neposredni bližini.
