The lodge itself is absolutely beautiful, with two huge beds, and plenty of blankets and pillows to keep you warm at night. The view is amazing, and you can watch the sunset and sunrise from your bed. They also have a little daybed, a rocking chair and a sun lounger outdoors. The bathroom is a little basic (I couldn't get the hot water to work, but that might just be my problem). Overall, the place was gorgeous and so different to anywhere else I've ever stayed. The journey there was super easy, just message the host when you're heading to the port, and they will have someone come to collect you and take you over. The boat ride itself is a treat! They also will take you back, i had to leave very early and this wasn't a problem for them at all. The hosts were amazing too, any time I had a question, within about 10 minutes they would be outside the lodge to answer it in person. Absolutely fantastic customer service.
There are two main issues I had during my stay.
1) The lodge gets very cold at night (which is unavoidable for the location, and not the owners fault at all!) However, they have provided an Outdoor Only heater which runs on gas to heat the lodge at night. This is incredibly dangerous, especially with altitude already making combustion heaters more likely to produce carbon monoxide when in use. Please replace these dangerous heaters with ones suitable for indoor use. I personally didnt use it and found that the blankets provided were adequate for the cold.
2) There is no way to lock the front door of the lodge. I did request a key but was told it wasn't necessary. Even a simple bolt lock or hook would be fine, but having the door be able to be opened by anyone was concerning to me as a solo female traveller.

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour sur les îles Uros. Erika est venue nous chercher et a été adorable du début à la fin, toujours souriante et attentionnée.
L’emplacement est exceptionnel, avec une vue magnifique sur le lac Titicaca. C’est une expérience vraiment dépaysante.
nous n’avons pas réussi à avoir d’eau chaude pendant notre séjour.
Concernant les excursions, il faut savoir que la découverte de la vie locale est proposée en supplément. Nous avons été un peu déçus par notre première visite, qui ne correspondait pas vraiment à ce que nous imaginions. Heureusement, l’équipe nous a gentiment proposé de refaire l’excursion le lendemain matin, et cette fois-ci, tout s’est très bien passé. Il serait simplement préférable de mieux expliquer le contenu des excursions dès le départ pour éviter les malentendus.

Everything was very clean, and the room was very beautifully designed. Also the heating was a very comfortable asset.
Since you're on an artificial island, you're kind of a "hostage" of the lodge. This means you eat their food and you do their tours. They were great though, so nothing to complain about, but just for you to know that you won't have many options.

This is a highly unique property that allows you to experience a very different lifestyle - that of the people of the Uros islands. If you are after a bit of an adventure and want to meet a lovely, hospitable family, then this is a great place to try for a night.
I didn't realise that when the listing mentioned a restaurant, a bar, ensuite bathroom that this property doesn't operate in the same way as a conventional hotel or lodge. The toilet is a composting one and you are served meals and drinks in your room because, being a floating island, there is no space for these facilities. Partly it is my fault for not realising that this is a highly unique experience which doesn't really fit well in the regular Booking.com listings and therefore it isn't that clear what you are actually going to experience.
