A masterclass in mediocrity

Location

Well, where do I begin? If you’re looking for a place that truly redefines the word “underwhelming,” congratulations—you’ve found it. Let’s start with the beds. Or should I say, the suggestion of beds. Sheets that didn’t fit, pillows that looked like they’d lost a bar fight, and a general vibe that made us wonder if someone had already slept in them. The pièce de résistance? A single towel, already used and thoughtfully hung in the bathroom—as if to say, “We knew you were coming, but couldn’t be bothered.” The decor was a bold choice. I assume the theme was “post-apocalyptic thrift store,” with furniture that looked like it had been rescued from a skip and lighting that could double as an interrogation room. The floor wasn’t quite a dust bowl, but let’s just say I wouldn’t recommend dropping anything edible. And then there were the worktops. Burnt, stained, and seemingly scorched by someone who mistook a frying pan for a flamethrower. I’ve seen better surfaces in abandoned petrol stations. We did try to contact the proprietor—just a quick message to say, “Hi, is this a joke?” After a chirpy “hello,” they vanished into the ether. No follow-up, no apology, no attempt at basic hospitality. It was like trying to get customer service from a ghost. Oh, and the bike storage. That was a treat. We were told there’d be space for our bikes—plural. What we found was a nook that might’ve accommodated a child’s tricycle if you turned it sideways and held your breath. For four adults with actual bikes? Not even close. It was less “bike storage” and more “bike suggestion.” In summary: if you enjoy disappointment, questionable hygiene, and decor that makes you reflect on your life choices, this is the place for you. Otherwise, do yourself a favour and book literally anywhere else.

Too expensive for quality

The flat is well located , very close to the castle

The flat is run down, doesn’t match the pictures A lot of shelves and lighting were missing. Door handles were loose , the bath tub door is fitted the wrong way around which makes it very dangerous to step inside the bath tub to have a shower. The flat wasn’t cleaned and poorly maintained. No toilet paper . The tv and remote weren’t working. The flat is pretty noisy because of traffic in the street below.

the location is close to bars and restaurants. the style of the apartment is promising.

I was really looking forward to staying here, it could be so lovely but it’s style over substance for me right now. we arrived 20 mins after 4 which is stated as the latest check in to find the cleaner still there. We sat until almost 4:45 waiting for her to finish. it wasn’t acceptable. She rushed the job and Still the apartment really wasn’t clean as per many other reviews. The host wasn’t particularly helpful either when I messaged about this, eventually ignoring the texts I sent about how clean it was. The bedding is really low quality, lumpy pillow. The child’s bed in the bedroom came without bedding, stained mattress and pillow. The road noise is unbearable all night, this can’t be helped by the host to be fair but please keep in mind unless you’re an easy sleeper. 4 of us staying all had minimal sleep. This has potential to be good but so many important details missed. it was overpriced for the quality we received.

Het karakter en interieur van het appartement is heel smaakvol. Heel persoonlijk ingericht, weinig traditionele ikea elementen. Het is onmiskenbaar een oud gebouw met gebreken, maar dat hoort bij de charme.

Het was een warme dag en het ware fijn geweest als de vensters voordien open gedaan waren om te laten tochten, want er is geen airco.
