Aurora Backpackers Hostel

The staff was amazing and the hostel was very clean.

Nothing bad to say.

Good price and good location.

Air condition is turned on only during 8PM- 8AM.

It’s nice the common area is decent rooms and bathrooms could do with an upgrade

If people are there long term they should be ok there own room felt like we were bunking in others rooms. Especially when there were others available. Could do with female only dorms

A great hostel with all the facilities you could need. Comfortable beds, curtains, bed lights and power plugs with every bed. It was very clean and in a great location! The social area was great, also very chill so no loud music keeping you up. Wifi worked well and breakfast was good.

The rude staff ruined it for us. South African man working there was very arrogant and condescending. Be careful with the payment and be prepared to pay more than the price you booked. They have their booking.com set to USD but require you to pay at the property. Once there they use a VERY bad exchange rate to change it to LAK. We paid an extra almost half of the price we booked because of this and they would not budge or be reasoned with. They claimed this was the case everywhere in Laos but this is the only place we have come across this scam. There is also only ONE unisex shower at the property. So unless you book a room with a shower in it be prepared to line up, although I never had to. There is a toilet in each room.
