If you're planning a trip to the Galápagos Islands and looking for a place that combines comfort, warmth, and great value, Verde Azul in Puerto Ayora checks every box.
Our room was spotless from the moment we arrived — fresh linens, a well-maintained bathroom, and everything neatly organized. After long days of exploring the islands, coming back to a clean, quiet room made a real difference. The property itself is well-kept and has a relaxed, natural feel that matches the Galápagos vibe perfectly.
The staff at Verde Azul genuinely go above and beyond. They were warm, helpful, and knowledgeable about the islands — offering tips on the best snorkeling spots, tortoise reserves, and local restaurants that we never would have found on our own. Nothing felt like too much trouble for them. That personal touch is what sets this place apart from larger, more impersonal hotels

Breakfast was served fresh - upon arrival to dining area, eggs and plantain were fried. Bun super fresh. Coffee delicious.
No ocean view, but pool was lovely to relax in after a long day exploring.
Young lady at Reception, Andrea, couldn't be more helpful. A pleasure to deal with. She arranged airport transfer for me. Also helped carry bags up to room.

Room was spacious with a lovely view, no elevators. Breakfast was a bread with jam and butter, a scrambled egg, an emapanada, fruit, and fruit juice. A lovely way to tart the day. The pool patio was a nice place to relax and the poo was great to cool off in. We were unable to figure out pool towels but dried quickly enough that it was not an issue.
