The whole cottage was so beautiful and very well organised. The products in the bathroom were a lovely touch, too. Bedroom doors overlooking the canal was stunning 😍
The steps down to the accommodation were quite steep and slippy, but everything else made up for that.

We had an 83 year old in the family group, the steps going down to the property in the dark was a little challenging, however don’t let that put you off, maybe bring a torch

The property was very clean and has all amenities. There were welcome extras of snacks and beverages in the kitchen and nice toiletries in the bathroom. The beds were comfortable but small doubles, good TV reception and the Wifi was excellent. All of which we would expect for the high price.
Bowie’s Abode is not a cottage as described in some reviews, its a mainsonette on two floors with a two storey flat above in a terrace of similar old buildings.
Access to the property is from a busy road down two flights of littered, narrow and steep stone steps and a dark unlit tunnel under the building above. The top flight was slippery after rain. They proved difficult with luggage and shopping.
The most dissapponting thing was that we had imagined from the gallery and reviews that the property had a view of the canal, boats and wharf buildings. It does not. The trees prevent any view and access to the canal path for 'evening strolls’ was a fair distance down a busy road.
Steps were mentioned in the property information and we did request more details. We were sent a photo but it did not explain the situation. We feel that there was not a fair or accurate description of the entrance or the location and access to the canal and we feel potential renters should be prepared.
I’ve tried to be fair and accurate in these comments.
