In Vallstena is Alvena Lindaräng, a well-visited nature reserve with 12 different species of orchids and among other things lime trees, oaks, blue and white wood anemone. Here even Gotland's landscape bird, the collared flycatcher, breeds. Gothem is 10 km away and invites you to swim at the fine sandy beaches Åminne and Vitviken. Pets are welcome at Vitviken. Also make trips to the charming fishing villages on the east side of Gotland, Agbod, Baju, Katthammarsvik. Bring a picnic basket and enjoy nature and the sun shining in the sea. In the various parishes there are farm stores selling Gotland produce such as vegetables, strawberries, meat, preserves, jams, etc. Slite's golf course has park and forest character and is 21 km away. In Gothem usually also many recreational anglers fish for trout in spring and autumn on Gothemhammar.
