Breakfast was anything we wanted, when we wanted, arranged always the evening before Room on second floor up narrow stairs, but bags were carried up for us Owner extremely hospitable and helpful Reasonable storage space for clothing

Double bed, narrow, was all there was room for, and space very tight

Our hosts were incredibly hospitable and the location was absolutely perfect!

From the moment we booked, Pete made us feel so welcome. We exchanged lots of messages before our arrival, and finding out he was Australian was such a lovely surprise. Every message felt like I was chatting with a family member rather than a host. Although we arrived quite late in the evening, Pete stayed up to greet us, helped us carry our luggage up the iconic Dutch staircase, and welcomed us with the biggest smile. Walking into the apartment, we found complimentary snacks, fresh fruit, water and juice waiting for us, such a thoughtful touch after a long day of travelling. During our stay we also got to meet Pete’s son, Lenny, and visit their beautiful gallery downstairs. They are genuinely two of the kindest, warmest people we’ve met while travelling. They were so easy to talk to that by the end of our stay they honestly felt like our Amsterdam dad and brother. Pete even surprised me with a bottle of white wine one evening, which was incredibly generous and thoughtful. On our last day, when we were catching the overnight train, they happily looked after all of our luggage so we could enjoy our final day in Amsterdam. When we returned that evening, Pete even had wine waiting for us while we relaxed before heading to the station. Those little acts of kindness are something we’ll never forget. The accommodation itself was absolutely beautiful. It’s a classic Amsterdam home full of character, with the wonderfully steep winding stairs that make these historic houses so unique. We loved sitting by the huge windows each morning eating breakfast and watching Jordaan wake up. The location couldn’t have been more perfect, right in the heart of one of Amsterdam’s most beautiful neighbourhoods, with cafés, canals and everything you could want just moments away. What made this stay truly exceptional wasn’t just the lovely apartment, it was Pete and Lenny. It’s rare to meet genuinely caring, generous people who make complete strangers feel so at home.
